Chapter 5: Doing Two Of The Initiation Tasks

"Hello Adrianna Silvers. Take a seat." Casper and Jasper said at the same time.

Usually them talking at the same time was pretty interesting, but this time it's just insane and creepy.

I sat down in the chair that they had motioned to, and they handed me a candle.

I shot Ryder a what-the-fuck-is-going-on look and he just sat there with his stupid badass smirk.

"For you to be able to live with us and be our partners in crime, you must do three tasks." Ryder smirked.

Three tasks? Seriously? Are they gonna make me walk on hot coals or something along those lines?

"The first one will be given in a minute, the other one will come tomorrow, and the next will come on Monday." Casper said seriously.

Great. Ryder wasn't kidding about the initiation thing like I had hoped he was. I waited for them to give me the first task.

"Your first task, is to tell us why you're here. Why you asked us to let you move in with us. We love you, but we know you love Florida. Tell us why you left." Jasper told me.

That's the first task? I would rather walk on hot coals and be hit in the head with a brick and lay on a bed of nails.

"It's a long story and I'm sure you don't want to hear about it." I shrugged.

They all glared at me and I shrank down in the chair I was sitting in. They crossed their arms over their chests.

"We've got time." Ryder replied.

I sighed in irritations and I made myself as comfortable as one could be holding a candle.

"Once upon a time, a few months ago, there was a guy named Xavier, and a girl named Adrianna. When they met, they instantly liked each other. Eventually, Xavier proposed to Adrianna and she was ecstatic. Adrianna told her best friend Stella before anyone else. Xavier and Adrianna planned the wedding from beginning to end, but Adrianna had a bad feeling that Xavier was keeping something from her. Two weeks before the wedding Xavier and Adrianna had a party to celebrate the upcoming wedding. After the party started, Adrianna couldn't find Xavier anywhere. She also couldn't find Stella. She searched and searched and searched and she finally found them in her bedroom. Stella and Xavier were doing the deed when Adrianna found them. Adrianna ran out of the room after slamming the door when they tried to explain. Adrianna went to a different friend and the friend told her that Stella and Xavier had been in a secret relationship and Xavier had proposed to Stella as well. Adrianna called the police and had them escort everyone home. She didn't answer any phone calls, or texts from anyone. She only sent one text and it said that she was calling off the wedding because Xavier was a lying cheater. A week later, she packed her bags without anyone knowing, and she moved to her childhood friends house, where she lived happily ever after without Xavier and Stella. The End." I told like a child's story, a tear streaking down my cheek.

Casper, Jasper, and Ryder stared open mouthed at me after I told the shorter version of the story.

I blew out my candle and I set it on the coffee table. Casper and Jasper looked guilty for asking, and Ryder looked sympathetic.

Ryder stood up and walked towards me. He picked me up, sat in my chair, and set me on his lap. He wiped the tear from my cheek.

I gave him a small and empty smile and I sniffed. I put my arms around Ryder's neck and I hid my face in his chest.
