CHAPTER 9 : New job!

The days at the resort went well and before we know it, it was our last night to perform. Our contract already ended and the group decided not to renew anymore. We decided to take a vacation and spend more time with our families. We will surely miss this place.

Fast forward... after a month back home....

I received a call from a prospective employer abroad. I decided to try my luck in the I.T business. After all, I am an I.T graduate and I think it is about time to practice what I have learned from school. I just finished my online interview with the hiring company and guess what? I got the job! I will handle marketing designs for the company. I will be part of a film production outfit but I am yet to know the new name because according to the hiring manager, they are on a transition although it's the same people, they are just changing their business name for publicity purposes. Well whatever it is, what I care for is just the job. I am about to leave in two weeks.

I travelled all the way to the U.S, leaving my family and my band. I think my band mates will understand. They too have their own lives to take care too. From the last news I have heard from them, they also went separate ways and have their separate bands too. We just keep our communications open and remained friends.

It is my first day of work in Central California and it was such a busy Monday. Good thing, I was provided a place to stay by the company. It was an apartment not too far from the office. About 15 minute walk. I am living with the other 2 staff from the office. Both were from the production team and were also hired from my country. They came first about 6 months ago, then me.

Carl and Tina, they are my new pals. We all walk together to work and they stop by the coffee shop to grab some coffee. I am a coffee person so I made sure I got mine as well to keep me awake the whole day.

We arrived at the office 10 minutes earlier and I was met by the Marketing head. Anthony gave me a tour of the office. It was a pretty new production outfit with about 25 people office staff including me. Then there rest, about 20 of them are all the man power outside field and on location.

We are about to start our first monthly meeting for the year. I guess I would have the opportunity to meet the "real bosses". You see, none of my new pals at the apartment ever told me about the owners. They said that I will meet them in time, and it's gonna blow my mind.

I was seated at the far end of the table beside my marketing department boss Anthony, then my colleague Joshua and Sandy. We all work with the designs.

The meeting is about to start and I was busy doing something on my laptop, when I heard voices entering the room. A woman and a man. The man's laugh is familiar, though. I was just so busy that they were already talking and being introduced to everyone. It was now my turn, I look up and stand from my chair. Then my jaw dropped! It was the same piercing eyes that I met back in Bali.
