STATUS : It's Complicated (A Robert Downey Jr. Fanfic)

CHAPTER 10 : THE MEETING

I didn't know how to react when he came in. I continued to just focus my eyes on the floor while standing. We were introduced one by one. I am so nervous when it's my turn already.

"Robert, this is Kristine Suarez, our I.T Supervisor. She is also our head for the Lay-out department under Marketing. She is responsible of taking care of the company's I.T concerns as well as the posters and advertisements that we will release. Kristine, this is Robert Downey, Jr. The owner of the company, our boss. " – It was Tim McGregor, our VP for operations who introduced us.

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Downey." –I said plainly, shook his hand, looked at him quickly then retrieved my hands quickly.

"Yeah, same here. Hmmm... have we met before? " – Robert asked me. I don't know if it is good or bad that he did not recognize me but it's safer that he didn't. After all, he is still married. I think he didn't recognized me because of my shorter hair and new color. I made it ash blonde

"I don't think so, Sir. My first time here." – I managed to shoot him a faint smile then continue to just look down.

We all sat down and the day went so smoothly. Meeting everybody and doing brainstorming. Discussing the company's strategy for the next 6 months in preparation for the filming of the new movie. I just quietly sat on my seat and listened to them as I take down notes on what my department need to do.

We called it a day at round 6pm. Almost everybody will go out tonight for a group dinner which was initiated by Tim. I packed my things and headed out the door. I don't plan to join them, I just wanted to be alone at the apartment and just take a rest. But I am being persuaded by my new friends Tina and Carl. They said that I need to mingle with others so we can gel and build connection. I tried to throw some alibis but they didn't stop.

"Okay, okay! I'm coming! But I will be leaving at 10pm. I don't want to stay late!" – me to the both of them while Tina snakes her arm to mine. Not willing to let go, tsk!

"Oh, c'mon! Tomorrow is Saturday. We don't have work so we can just wake up late. Let's just enjoy today, okay?" – Carl is very persistent but yet so sweet. Lucky me I have met friends like them here.
