CHAPTER 14 : UNOFFICIALLY YOURS

I woke up feeling cold. I check the time from my cellphone at the night stand, it was already 7pm. I tried to search Robert beside me but he's not there. I stood and decided to go downstairs. I called out his name several times but he is not answering. Then I decided to go outside and take a walk.

His "getaway" house is located just beside the seashore. You can hear the swooshing sound of the winds and the splashing of the water from the shore. I went outside and walked near the shore line. I took off my flip flops and decided to sit on the sand. There are so many things on my mind.

I really like Robert but the situation is too complicated. I don't want to be the cause of their break up. If I am going to appear on the picture, they must settle first what they have. I know how it is to have a broken family. I've been there and it's too nasty to file an annulment or a divorce.

Suddenly, I was startled with arms on my shoulders, hugging me from behind. I can smell the masculine perfume. It was Robert. His lips is nuzzled on my neck.

"Hey... let's go inside. Too cold here" – Robert saying, not leaving my neck.

I just turned my head towards him and decided to just stand up. He held my hand and led me to the house. I was so surprised to see a candle lit dinner table prepared. I looked at Robert's eyes with a questioning look. He just smiled and ushered me to the table. He sat in front of me and reached out for the bottle of wine from the bucket full of ice. Poured some wine on my glass and his as well.

"Robert, what's with all of these? You very well know that this isn't exactly what's supposed to be." – me to him

"I know! But it's worth the shot!" – Robert just looking at me with a slight smile on his lips.

"Don't over think, okay? Let's just eat. " – Robert saying to me while devouring on his own food.

"Did you prepare all of these? Thank you for doing this for me." – me to him, with a smile on my face. I honestly don't expect this from him. But I honestly, my heart is so happy.

"So, have you decide on "us"?" – I was shocked at Robert's question.

"Well I guess, I'm unofficially yours!" – I looked down my plate while saying that to him.

"What do you mean?" – Robert asking me while looking a bit confused.

"I mean, we will try but no strings attached. We are not official yet but as what you have said, we will just enjoy every moment. Look, if you really want this to work you need to settle your issues with your marriage." - me to him.

Robert's face lit up. I can see he is happy.

"Well, I guess it's better like this than nothing. You won't regret it and I can assure you that I'll make this work." – Robert held my hand but I removed it right away.
