Love and Other Disasters

Chapter 1.

-Farah's POV-

I didn't see that coming.

"Do you mind if I sit here?" The black-haired guy said as he sat beside me.

Is he okay?..

"Sorry? We don't want company." I snapped at him.

Aya glared at me and kicked my foot.

"Ow." I mouthed.

"Its okay boys, you can sit here for a while." Aya smiled at them.

"No its not okay. We don't even know them." I whisper-shouted at her.

"Why don't we get to know them, you know you want to." She said while raising a brow.

I gave her a disapproving look.

"If we are disturbing you, we can always leave." The blondie hesitated.

"No its ok, she is just not used to have new people around." Aya replied.

I really didn't like being introduced to new people. I am already satisfied with all the people around me. Aya has been my only bestfriend since childhood, and I couldn't ask for more. She has been with me through my ups and down, and comforted me whenever I didn't feel good. Her kindheart was everything I can wish for. So why know new people when all I have is already enough?

"I'm Ethan." The black-haired guy smiled and extended his hand.

"Farah." I said back, not accepting to shake his hand.

"Lucas." The blondie smiled and nodded his head.

"I'm Aya." My bestfriend said as she giggled at both of them.

"Nadine." The blonde-girl that was attached to Ethan's hand said.

I didn't realize she was here. Did she just appear or something?

"Nice to meet you." Aya said.

"Hey." I said not looking at her, but to my shoes instead.

"So tell me girls, are you from around here?" Lucas said.

"No, we are actually from Chicago, but we got accepted here so we came." Aya said looking at Lucas. "But we are planning to go back To Illinois in the upcoming vacation though."

"It seems like you know eac hother since long then." Ethan said looking through my eyes.

"Yeah, since elementary school." I said.

Ethan seemed to be having a small argument with his little girlfriend because apparently she wasn't liking how much of attention he and Lucas were giving me and Aya.

What really surprised me is what he told her.

"Go away Nadine, I am not interested in you anymore. You already knew I don't date."

I glanced at Aya and Lucas. She was laughing at some joke he told her. He continued to flirt with her and I can actually see her blush.

Aya was never the kind of girl to be shy around boys. She treated them like they were just like the brothers she never had. I was actually fascinated to see her interested in a guy.

Lucas also seemed to like her. It was all clear in his hazel eyes.

I can actually see them together. Lucas is a sweet guy, and Aya deserved someone like him.

My head was full of random thoughts. What did Ethan mean when he told Nadine that he doesn't date? Why was he being nice to me when he already has a girlfriend? Will I have any chance with him? Was he a player? A manwhore? Did I even like him?

I don't know the answer to any of these questions. Time will only tell.

We said our goodbyes to the boys, and I earned a death glare from Nadine, who was standing by the cafeteria door in her lagoon blue dress. Just when I was beginning to like her, she decides to hate me.

What is her problem? I will never know.

Aya and I exited the campus and headed back to our room. I changed into my Superman pajamas and sat on my bed checking twitter on my iPhone, but felt my eyes drooping so I decided to sleep.

I heard the bathroom door open and Aya exit through the door. She sat on her bed and began texting someone. Her typing continued until the keyboard tapping got on my nerves.

"Would you stop typing please, the voice is beginning to get annoying." I said, annoyed.

"Sorry, I'll stop now." She retreated.

"Who were you texting anyways?" I asked, sounding curious.

"Lucas." She said simply.

"Hmm.. Do you like him?" I raised a brow at her.

"I am not sure. I sure do like his eyes, his smile, his wink..." She rambled. "In addition to that he is very funny."

"You like him." I smirked.

"Maybe." She turned her phone and the side lamp off and went to sleep.

I grinned to myself, proud of what I just did.

It sure will be fun trying to get Aya and Lucas together.
