CHAPTER 3!!!
Jesse's POV
"Hey Jesse and Jesse's friends," said Benson.
"Sup Tommy," I said, flicking my head.
"Well I'm wondering who these girls are-care to fix that?" said Benson grinning at the girls.
I turned to introduce them. I could tell that Christy was attempting to look disinterested while Tara's eyebrows were scrunched together and her full lips were pushed together against the side of her face in a thoughtful manner. Ha. she still hadn't figured out who Benson was. I nodded at Christy and said, "This is Christy, her dad owns Abel Healthcare United, and this is Tara," I said, gesturing at them respectively.
"Cool. Hey you guys. So..." Benson trailed off into conversation. I could tell it was an excuse to check out the girls. They were two of the prettier ones in the freshman crowd. I knew a few people here and all of them were rich. In fact, most of the school populace was rich. Unfortunately being rich didn't make you hot. Unless of course you got plastic surgery, which you could afford. Ugh like Casey. I felt a twinge of sadness mixed in with disgust. We had grown up together, and look what had happened to her.
Casey and I had seen each other pretty often growing up because her father was a standing political figure along with mine. They were both going to re-run for Senate this November for the Democratic Party. My dad from Illinois and hers from Wisconsin. Our fathers were best friends and political allies. This meant that we'd spent a lot of time together. I flashed back to when we were younger and Casey and I had been best friends. We used to play soccer together, but when we hit 6th grade Casey changed. When we visited their family over Thanksgiving break, I'd been excited to see her after a year. I'd had so many things to tell her, like how I'd made the JV soccer team as a 6th grader. But when we reached her house, I found her naturally dark brown hair bleached blonde and she wore a mini skirt and tube top. She'd quit soccer and started cheer. She kept flirting with me as the sixth grader I was wondered what had happened to my friend. She'd turned into a total slut which I'd found out in not so wonderful ways the one week we'd visited her family, and by the looks of it, she'd gotten even worse over the years. Especially with her nose-job and transplants (I'll let you guess where).
Shaking my head, I turned my attention back to Tommy, Christy, and Tara. They were having an engaging discussion about the pros and cons of Twilight and other books. Well, it was more Tara and Benson. Christy was just listening. She, like me, wasn't much of a reader. Although, I guess Benson's nerdy love of reading had finally come in handy--idiot. I glanced at the rest of the kids. Everyone had automatically divided up into groups. I could see many furtive, jealous glances in our direction. Well hey Jesse, you do have two of the hottest girls, who're equaled out by ugh Benson...and of course me myself and I make our group soar up the popularity level. Hehe.
"What're you so happy about?" asked Tara, looking at me.
"Oh nothing," I answered, smiling. Suddenly, I felt a hand on my shoulder. Fake manicured nails poked into my shirt and I caught a heavy waft of perfume (Chanel, but being a guy he just doesn't know or care). Nauseated, I turned around to see who it was. It was, of course, Casey who apparently thought she could just prance up to us because she knew me.
"Hey baby, miss me?" she asked. "So who are your friends?" she said, knowing full well who Benson was. She frowned with distaste at Tara and Christy.
