Jesse's POV:
I walked up the stairs to the five story brick building containing the boys dorms and looked at the retreating van. I waved and pulled my suitcase into the dormitory common room. I looked around me. nice.
The room was color schemed in navy blue, silver, and white. White couches stretched along in various arrangements facing several huge plasma screen televisions along the hall on the left side of the building. Along the back wall was a pair of French doors leading into what looked like a common room study area. On the right, there was a bathroom, stairs, an elevator, and a water fountain. I glanced at the number on my room key, 509. Better take the elevator, I hit the up button and waited for the elevator. I had a feeling there was a floor for each grade and freshman were put at the top, the most inconvenient floor. I also had a feeling that with upperclassman rights, the freshmen were going to be walking up five flights of stairs while the seniors went up one on the elevator. The elevator dinged as it reached my floor. I strode in, might as well have fun with it when you can.
I got off on my floor and reached my room. All of the doors had dry erase boards on them, I wonder why? Opening the door, I walked in dragging my bag behind me. It was pretty nice. A relatively large dorm room although much smaller than your average bedroom. The walls were painted a cream color with dark hardwood flooring and a view into the forests past the edge of campus. Furniture included two twin sized beds touching either wall with bare mattresses. I could see that my roommate had already reached the school and claimed the bed closer to the door, probably in a hurry-or maybe he snuck out a lot-- by the pile of clothes on it and the suitcase haphazardly lying unzipped beside it. I put my suitcase beside the bed and dumped my backpack on it. I felt my pocket vibrating.
"Kay. Done. What about u??" From: Tara
Oh yeah the girl I'd met. I could tell she was a newbie to our world. She didn't deal with the elite on too often a basis from what she'd told me, but she was striking with her thick shoulder length black hair and golden skin. She had huge dark eyes framed by long black lashes, defined eyebrows, full pinkish red lips and generally striking features. Not your classic beauty, but definitely gorgeous. She also had a pretty quirky personality, turning it on and off-oh yeah and she was smart. I think I want to get to know her, I thought. I'm sure she'll cling to me a little because of the fact that I'm the only kid here she knows. Cool.
I texted her back

"Kewl. I'll catch up w/ u in ur dorm kay?"
I washed my face really quickly, grabbed my phone and map and headed over to the girls dorm.
Tara's POV
After I got back Jesse's message I looked at myself in the mirror. Okay, hair-brushed. Teeth-clean. Face-washed. Clothes-on. Awesome. I headed downstairs with my phone and map. I popped in a piece of gum-the minty kind, not fruity.
Our dorm was amazing. The walls were a pastel pink with beige furniture and light wood floors. It had a very pleasant feel to it. Our rooms were kind of small, but luckily I'd reached before my roommate so I instantl y chose the bed by the window. If she didn't like the arrangement, she'd just have to deal with it. Our downstairs was (basically like the guys except pink and beige)
I got out of the elevator, walked over to the beige couch in the sitting area near the entrance and plopped down on it. This was comfortable. I pulled out my phone to check it for texts and emails. 35 emails from my friends about the new school and whatnot. I grinned, I'll answer those later.
