Booth and Temperence spent the next half and hour in silence. Booth got up to use the bathroom, but Temperence just sat watching Zack. He seemed so small, curled up in his unconciousness. He was bigger than she was but somehow she had always felt larger. It was their personalities, hers strong, a leader; his, not shy but a follower a stickler for the rules. Zack was on of the most intellegent, rational people she knew and yet a little while ago he had made the worst decision.

Zack had crossed the line. Stepping over from the good to the bad side, not that she believed in absolutes like  good and bad. He had joined a serial cannible, although he hadn't actually eaten anybody, he had murdered someone. And for that he deserved to go to jail, but deep down she didn't really think that. Neither had anyone else, so they, her team that is, had managed to convince him to plead guilty to the murder and go to an insane asylum, instead of jail.

Booth returned from the bathroom just as Zack was beggining to stir. Temperence was at his side immediately. "Zack? Are you alright?" she bugged. Zack lifted his head and touched the place where temperence had hitten him. "It appears I have been hit, most likely by you Dr. Brennan." he said by way of greeting. Temperence smiled, 'I'm sorry, but I didn't know it was you." she said matter of factly. "Yeah, why'd you knock him out, hey Bones?" Booth joked. Temperence and Zack both turned to him. "Hey Mr. Booth, I didn't see you in the corner" Zack said. Booth nodded in his direction.

"Booth, I said to Zack that I didn't know, I probably wouldn't have hitten him if I had known." she said. Booth sighed. "I was just kidding Bones- Wait, you probably would'nt have hitten him?" he said interrupting himself. "Yes, if he was holding a gun or a knife or he said something that made me-"

"Alright, I get it. So you, genius boy," Booth turned his attention back to Zack.

Zack looked at him blankly, "Yes."

"Right, what you doing here?"

"Coming to tell Dr. Brennan something." he replied.

"You could have called her from, uh..."

"The asylum? Their phones are compromised and anyway I needed to get out."

"Their phones are- What?" Booth said, confused.

Temperence and Zack ignored Booth and twisted to face each other. "Why didn't you just knock on the door? And what do you need to tell me?"

"I estimated that you would probably send me straight back to the asylum if I just knocked on your door. I found a body. I didn't tell anyone because I knew they wouldn't believe me. We had playtime" Zack began. "Playtime?" Booth scoffed. Temperence gave him a death glare, but Zack was unfazed.   "Yes thats what they call it when we get to spend some time outside." Zack commented, his eyes daring Booth to say something. Booth nodded. I noticed a funny scent coming from one of the trees, but it was outside the perimeter fence so I threw a cushion at the fence and went over to get it." Booth frowned. "Why?" Temperence rolled her eyes at Booth.

"Stop interrupting." she warned. "Obviously Zack wanted to get a better look without it seeming suspicious."

"Yeah, and throwing a pillow randomly isn't weird at all." Booth said sarcastically.

"Cushion" Zack corrected "Actually for a normal person throwing a cushion, as you call it, randomly, is weird, but not at the asylum."

"I was using sarcasm, not that either of you have heard of it." Booth muttered under his breath.

"Booth!" Temperence snapped. "Stop interrupting and why are you so grumpy?"

Booth raised his hands, "I'm woken at three in the morning, called to your house and find a crazy person on the floor with another crazy person who just knocked that person out." He fumed. "Just keep telling your story."

"When I bent down to get the pillow I saw a human metarcarpal and floating rib." Zack finished.

"Where are they now?" Booth asked.

"Still there" he replied.
