Chapter 2: Late Night in the Locker Room

My eyes fluttered open and the sun was seeping thru the blinds giving my dark room have a splash of light. I sat up and looked over at my office, it was messy. I looked at the clock and it was five thirty, I groaned and fell back into my bed and took a deep breath, I honestly don't know whether I want to go to school or not. I got up and went to my mac, went to ITunes and played Pity Party by Melanie Martinez . I walked down the stairs to my closet. I grabbed my outfit I had prepared last night and grabbed my black ankle boots to go with it. I went into the bathroom just as James was getting out.

" Your up, to bad I wanted to jump on your bed and sing 'wakey wakey Amy!' and pour ice water on you, I will just wait till next time." James said mimicking my voice from yesterday.

" Dad already gone?" I asked.

" Yep" he said popping the P as he walked down the hall to his room. I went into the bathroom and did all the stuff that makes me look human. By the time I was done with that it was already seven, I went down stairs and grabbed an apple. I went in my room taking a bite of the apple only to spit it out, it was rotten. I threw the apple away and grabbed my phone, backpack, and keys.

" James come on!" I called walking down the stairs.

" Coming!" He reached me as I shut the lights off and locked the door. I got into the car and started it.

" So do you know those guys, they're known as the bad guys?" James asked as we drove down the road.

" The bad boys, Gabe, Alec, Ryan, and Evan. Yes I know them." I said.

" Yeah they asked me if I wanted to hang with them." James looked at me.

" What? Why?" I asked taking my eyes off the road to look at him but quickly brought my eyes back to the road, why would they wanna hang with my little brother?

" They said they had a feeling I would be useful." James shrugged.

" Useful for what?" I questioned.

" They said they couldn't tell me anything yet, I told them I would give them an answer after school."

" Ok, just don't give them an answer before I get some information on who they are." I said.

"Okay?" That was the end of the conversation. We pulled into the parking lot in the same spot.

" Yo James!" Gabe came over to our car with the rest of his buddies. We both got out of the car.

" Hey guys." James said acting cool. I looked at all the guys who were standing there and Evan caught my gaze and I looked away.

" James you might have to ride the bus again." I said, feeling uncomfortable.

"Okay." He smiled and kissed my cheek and turned to the guys.

I walked into the school and the air threw my hair back, making it dance. I went to my locker and grabbed my stuff for Math.

" Hey, why is your little brother talking the The boys?" Shannon and Nathan were standing behind me.

" They want him in their covan, I told him not to give them an answer until I find out what they could want from him." I said shutting my locker.

" Well just to remind you that girl died that died was Evans cousin." Nathan said.

" That girl was his cousin?" I asked

" Yeah, he wasn't surprised or anything." Nathan said.

" Just tell him to say yes." Shannon said.
