Chelsea's POV:
"Do you have any idea where she is?" Romeo asked as we hit a bump on the soft-dirt road.
"She'll be the only girl on a dead dirt road, i'm sure it will be pretty hard to miss her, Romeo." I said, my palms sweating. I wiped my palms on my legs and continued to look straight, hoping to see Megan soon.
"I was just asking if there was a certain place I needed to stop." He said, continuing to speed down the road.
"Whenever you see her standing on the side of the road, but you may want to slow down, we might pass her if you continue to go this quick!" I said, nervous we wouldn't find Megan. It was dark out, and the only light we had were the headlights on the car.
"Okay, i'm sorry." Romeo said as he started to slow the car down.
"Me too. I'm just really nervous we won't find her." I sighed, putting my hand on my head as I felt a headache coming.
"Hey, don't think like that." Romeo said as he turned to look at me as I leaned against the window. "We'll find her, Chels. Don't worry." He said, giving me a soft, hopeful smile.
"STOP!" I shouted as i saw a figure out of the corner of my eye on the road. "Is that her?" I asked as Romeo quickly hit the brakes, causing the car to jolt back and forth.
"Should I drive forward to check?" He asked as we looked out the window.
"Just inch forward, in case it's not her." I said, clenching the cup holder that my hand was stuck in. Romeo began to slowly inch forward as we stared at the shape that looked like a body a little ways in the distance.
"Does that look like her?" Romeo asked as we kept slowly getting closer and closer to the figure.
"I think so." I said, squinting to see if i could make out the face of the person. I quickly unbuckled my seat belt and flung open the car door.
"Chelsea!" I heard Romeo say from inside the car as i stood, looking to see if it as Megan.
"Megan?" I shouted forward, completely ignoring Romeo.
"Chelsea?" I heard the persons voice echo back. Romeo quickly opened up his door and jumped out of the car, looking concerned.
"That's her!" I shouted, looking at Romeo before I ran towards Megan. The cars headlights lit up the dirt road so i could see Megan as we ran towards each other. When I got to Megan, I spread my arms out and gave her a big hug.
"Chelsea!" She sobbed into my shoulder as we hugged.
"Megan, where have you been?" I asked, concerned.
"Your moms. She's so mean." Megan continued to cry into my shoulder.
"Megan why would you go there?" I asked, confused, but still trying to be supportive.
"I thought I could get her to leave you alone before we left to move back to Rhode Island." She said as we finally pulled back from our hug. "But I was wrong."
"Why wouldn't you tell me you were going here?" I asked.
"I knew you would say no, so I thought I could handle it all on my own and be the "best friend hero" you have always been to me." She frowned.
I pulled her into another hug. "Oh, Megan." I frowned, feeling bad, "You'll always be a hero to me, and you should know that!"
"This is really cheesy." Romeo said as he stayed behind Megan and I, at the same spot he was by his car.
"You should have stayed home." I joked, shooting Romeo a glare.
"I'll be in the car for when you guys are done." He said, getting back into his car. A cool breeze made the hairs on my neck stand up, and put goosebumps all across my skin.
"It's getting kind of cold, want to go back to my house?" I asked, looking back at Megan. She smiled and nodded. We walked back up to the car and got in.
I buckled back up and Romeo turned around, starting to drive back to my house. My phone started to make a muffled buzzing noise in the cup holder. My phone lit up with a picture of Sierra smiling from the time we took a trip to West Palm Beach in Florida and i convinced her to go swimming with me, because Sierra never really liked swimming. I got a picture of her right after she got out of the water, she was smiling in her yellow triangl bathing suit, the ones she convinced me to buy for her and I, so we could match, even though mine was blue. I smiled as I looked at the photo again before I pressed 'answer'.
"Hello?" I said into the phone as I held it to my ear.
"Chelsea?" I heard Sierra say.
"Yeah?" I asked, earning myself questioning glares from both Romeo and Megan.
"We have a HUGE problem!" She said into the phone, over-exaggerating the word 'huge' so she could get her point across to me so I knew how big of a problem whatever she was about to tell me must be.
"What is it?" I asked, expecting her to tell me that we were out of coconut water, or that the new 'Burberry' coat she ordered came in a deep purple instead of lavender.
"Our plane goes out tomorrow at four."
"At four?" I repeated into the phone, shocked.
"At. Four." She said, pausing between each word.
"Our plane to Rhode Island?" I asked, my jaw dropping.
"Mhm." She nonchalantly said back to me, like it was no big deal.
"Who said?!" I frantically asked, freaking out because I wasn't ready to go back to Rhode Island yet.
"Dad." She responded.
"We'll talk when I get home, alright?" I said, frustrated.
"Alrighty." Sierra said right before I pressed 'end' on my phone.
I sighed, feeling the headache in my head start to throb as it got worse. "What was that all about?" Romeo asked, glancing at me as he drove.
"My plane back to Rhode Island flies out tomorrow." I sighed.
Romeo's face fell and he paled. "Tomorrow?"
"Mhm." I said, biting my nails.
"But you can't.." He frowned.
"I know." I frowned.
"There's so much you haven't seen in England yet." He said, the frown staying on his face.
"I know."
"And we weren't even able to hang out past all of the drama."
"I know."
"And i really like you, Chelsea."
"I know. Wait, what?" I said, my eyes widening. "What did you just say?"
"I really like you, Chelsea. You're a really great friend." He said, smiling at me.
I slumped back down in my seat. For some reason I had hoped that conversation would have went... differently. "I know." I sighed, starting to look out the window again with my arms crossed. I. Know.
