"Holy shit" I look around from outside of the doors. People as far as the eye could see were dancing, drinking, and talking. Most of them in costume. Adam waves me to come on, I head in. He looks for his friends. Once he finds them, they fist bump and bro-hug and whatever. He introduces me to some of his football friends, which were surprisingly nice for... Football players. Suddenly I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn around and to my surprise I see Calli. "Calli?" I narrow my eyes. "Zach!" She hugs me. I hug back and laugh. "What the hell are you doing here?" I giggle. "One of the senior boys in the fine arts invited me. His name is Tanner. She points to him. He was fairly attractive, but nothing like Adam in my eyes. "Paulina's here too..." She laughs, covering her mouth and pointing to the couch. Paulina was laying down and making out with one of the cheerleaders from our high school. "Looks like she's having fun" I widen my eyes. Adam comes over, "Who's this?" He smiles. "This is Calli" I say, she smiles at me and her eyes widen. "I'm Adam" he reaches out to shake her hand. She rejects it, "I'll leave you two alone". She walks off. He raises and eyebrow before laughing, "what's there to leave us alone about?". "Oh... Nothing. She's just weird" I squint one of my eyes, coming up with an excuse. "Alright" he smiles softly. Yes. That smile. The one that gives me butterflies. My favorite thing he does. He takes me over to another couch in the space we were in.

"I wish you could've met Kenzie. She's really nice to freshmen, unlike a lot of seniors" He smiles. "You're nice to freshmen" I respond. "Not many" He shrugs. "Not many?" I ask. "Only you" He says, his eyes showing he may have regret what he said. "Why only me? I mean, the typical senior football player would beat the hell out of a freshman guy if they talked to them" I narrow my eyes and bite my lip. "Because you're different than a lot of other freshman guys" He sighs, uncomfortable. "How so?" I look him in the eyes. "Because you just are. Zach, look. I don't have an exact explanation, you're just different" He looks back into my eyes. "That's okay," I smile softly, "I just didn't really understand what makes me different than other freshmen... Or even your girlfriend" I get up and walk up the stairs into a quieter part of the house. I sit down, leaning against the wall. I put my head in my hands and think for a while. After about ten minutes Adam finds me. I stand up as I see him. "Zach, are you okay?" He seemed concerned. "Yeah," I shake my head, "I don't know what happened... I'm sorry". He got close to me again, less than a foot just like he did back at school. "It's okay, I was just making sure I didn't say something wrong" He looks down at me, I look back up at him. "You didn't," I sigh, "Adam... I just don't understand our relationship at all". "Why? We're cool aren't we? Are you mad at me for something?" He asks, the smell of his cologne comforting me in a way. "No. I just... I just..." I bite my lip, "I like you, Adam... In a more than a friend way. I have ever since you first talked to me". His eyes widen ever so slightly. "Oh yeah?" He smiles, biting his own lip; something I've never seen him do. "Yeah" I laugh softly. He steps closer to me. He puts his hands on my waist softly. I tense in surprise; but then, all of my stress and tenseness disappeared. I slowly bring my arms up around his neck gently. We both lean in towards each other slowly. Finally. As our lips softly meet, close my eyes. I assume he closes his too. At that moment, the butterflies in my stomach were finally released.
