Chapter 9

The whole week passed by in a blur. There were interviews, investigations, questions asked, romance blossoming, and fear. Oh, and they found Tony's house. They investigated the entire house and apparently found some dead bodies in a secret room I had never seen. They also found Grace's body. We gave her a proper burial and now, I visit her grave everyday.

Bryan and I have kissed two more times, and my heart gets heavy and I feel butterflies in my stomach whenever I see him now. He came up to me and told me to get ready for the party. So here I am, trying on a new red dress Bryan had bought for me while thoughts swirl around my head.

"Bryan, can you zip my dress up please?" I shout out into the living room.

There was a moment of silence before I heard footsteps coming down the hallway. When Bryan walked in, his eyes widened and his face turned red. I giggled. "Like what you see?" I teased at him.

He whispered something under his breath and zipped my dress up. "Thanks!" I chirped. I headed into the bathroom and twirled in the mirror. (DANCING IN THE MIRROR, SINGING IN THE SHOWER okay moving on) I loved the dress! It was a beautiful, strapless, red dress that came down to my ankles. I was so excited for the party!

"We should get going now Julia," Bryan says, looking at his watch. "Lets go."

After several minutes of driving we pulled up onto a street filled with cars. We luckily found a grassy spot to park in and began walking towards the house with thudding music coming from it.

"Every year, there's a party hosted at Dillard's house. It's always on events. There was a Christmas party, a Halloween party, and others. This year he is hosting a Valentine's party. They're always the best parties ever." I didn't understand what Halloween or Christmas was, but I nodded anyways.

We were getting closer and closer to the house and I saw red sparkly stuff all over the yard and house itself. There were hearts plastered on and around the house. There were glowing pink and red lights all over the yard. The music was very loud now, I could hear a song being played.

I know you know that I made those mistakes maybe once or twice

And by once or twice I mean maybe a couple of hundred times

I was practically buzzing when we got to the door. A big buff man with very dark skin stood in front of the door. He had sunglasses and a suit on, and he was yelling at two kids. "Scram! This party is for older people!" The kids slowly walked away, sadness plastered onto their faces. The big man faced us and a huge toothy grin appeared on his face. "Bryan! Welcome bro! Go right in. Who's this?" He said, leaning in closer to me. "Well, umm... this is my girlfriend! Say hi Julia!" Bryan says, blush creeping up his cheeks. I whispered a 'hello' and gave a shy smile. "She's cute. Would bang her ten out of ten." The man says, lifting his sunglasses and giving me a wink before sliding them back down and onto his nose. I blushed furiously as Bryan laughed. "Don't say that kind of stuff dude! Just let us in." The man moved aside and we quickly headed inside.

The music was much louder than it was outside and I could literally feel the floor shaking.

I'm sorry, yeah

Sorry, yeah

Sorry

Yeah, I know that I let you down

Is it too late to say sorry now?

There were several people all on a brightly colored floor, dancing to the song. The floor kept changing colors and I stared at it before looking around. There were people making out and groping each other on the walls and men sitting at a bar, drinking a beverage I couldn't identify. "Here, have some fruit punch," Bryan says, handing me a cup of pink liquid. I sip on it. It was delicious! I gulped the rest down. "Can I have some more?" I asked Bryan eagerly. "Yeah sure, there's some over there. I'll be over at the bar okay?" He says, pointing towards a table with a big bowl filled with the pink liquid I had drank in it.

I quickly headed over to the table and used a ladle to poor some more juice into my cup. I gulped it down. I didn't exactly know what made the punch so good, but I loved it! I drank cup after cup, until I felt like my whole body would burst with punch. I trudged over to where Bryan said he would be. The bar. I saw him sitting on a stool, laughing vigorously at what I assume was a joke. "H-hey Julia..." Bryan said, hiccuping as he spoke. "Sup..." I said, twirling around a little before regaining my balance.

"Hey, Julia, I have a game to play. It's really fun." He says, hopping off of his stool and collapsing onto the ground. He picked himself up and said, "Let me show you the game." He grabs me by the hand and drags me somewhere. I giggled and let him pull me to wherever we were going. We head up the stairs and into a bedroom.

He shuts the door, the music was much quieter this way. He pushes me against the wall and kisses me. I blush but I kiss back.  I catch onto his tempo as he inserts his tongue into my mouth. I allow him to, I had a lot of experience with Tony. I dismissed the thought and inserted my tongue into Bryan's mouth. He pulls back and when I'm about to ask him why, he pushes me onto the bed and puts his mouth back on mine. I moan as he tries to pull me closer. He gropes my breast and I moan even louder. My shirt is slipping upwards when all of a sudden the door opens.

"Oh shit bro! I'm so sorry!" A man says, a short blonde standing behind him. Bryan and I hop off the bed. I was embarrassed, being a lot more sober then, but Bryan just laughed and nodded. "We were just playing a game. Go ahead." Bryan grabs my head and pulls me out of the room as the guy and the blonde enter the room.

We head back down the stairs and I hear a new song being played.

Take away your things and go

You can't take back what you said, I know

I've heard it all before, at least a million times

I'm not one to forget, you know

We push past people and head outside. As we walked back to the car, I thought I saw someone but I ignored it as we got inside. Bryan drove for a while as I stared out the window.

He finally parked somewhere and we got out. Without a single word, he began to walk up a hill. I followed him and my heart skipped a beat. What were we doing?

We finally get to the top of the hill. "Close your eyes and lay down." Bryan orders. I do as he says, wondering what he was going to do. I feel something move beside me. "Open your eyes!" I open my eyes and gasp.

There were a million bright lights in the sky. I had never seen so many lights in one place. "Those are stars. By the look on your face, I'm pretty sure you've never seen any before." He says, turning to face me. I turn and face him too. He reaches out and pulls away a strand of hair that got in my face.

"You're so beautiful." He whispers to me. I smile and kiss him. It wasn't like how we had kissed at the party. It was soft and passionate. It was perfect.

He was perfect.
