Skiing in a Hot Tub

"Adi, if you don't shut up right now, I'm going to leave you stranded here and you'll be all alone in this huge hotel, okay? EVERYONE CAN HEAR YOU SWEARING," Gabi reprimanded, earning amused stares from several passers-by.

"But-- holy shit, is that a waterwall?"

"ADI!" Gabi yelled, exasperated.

I snickered and trotted over to the falling water along the wall, took off my lens cap and began snapping shots. Gabi walked over and waited impatiently for me to finish.

"Seriously Adi, hurry up. I just want to get to our room, put my stuff down, and then find a hot tub, okay?" she sighed. I stopped taking photos, looked at her and asked incredulously, "Mum and dad paid for a ski holiday in Switzerland for the both of us, and you want to go in a hot tub?"

Gabi simply replied: "Yep."

"Okay, let's go then!"

After returning to the lobby from our modest hotel rooms on the 15th floor (there were 45), Gabi and I decided to snoop around the resort and see if we could find any of the following:

1. Free food

2. Hot tub/swimming pool

3. Ski equipment hire

4. Hot guys

The first thing we spotted was a complimentary buffet, and immediately sprinted over. I made a beeline for the frozen yoghurt and Gabi for the chips. After I squeezed past a pair of seemingly occupied strangers who were too busy chatting to move, I dived into the frozen yoghurt and stuffed myself silly. Once I was content, my eyes searched for Gabi, whom I found with her back towards me, bent over some ice-cream. I shook my head knowingly, and began to slowly make my way over to her. I "accidentally" overheard excerpts of conversations as I walked past…

"That is quite enough cream, Andy."

"Mary, seriously. It's holidays, who cares?"…

"Don't eat that, son. It's full of dirty germs."

"Mum, what do you want me to eat then? Hand sanitizer?"

"Isn't that toxic?"…

"I asked dad if he could rent the hot tub for us today, so I guess we can do whatever we want with it."

"Chill day?"

"Good plan."

I stopped in my tracks, remembering number 2 on our "to-find" list. The same two strangers I had passed on my way to the frozen yoghurt were discussing just that, over a plate of steaming chicken wings. I mentally cringed for so rudely squeezing past in my rush to get to the yoghurt. I ran a hand through my knotted hair and mentally slapped myself for not showering before coming back downstairs, then walked back to the pair.

"Um, excuse me. Sorry to interrupt, I just overheard you guys talking about a hot tub? My sister and I only just arrived a little while ago and we were wondering where one might find that particular hot tub--" I cut myself off, realising I was rambling. Amusement twinkled in the eyes of the boy standing directly in front of me. Now that I got a real chance to look at him, a blush spread over my cheeks as I realised he was one of the most handsome men I had ever seen. Flawless skin, light blonde hair perfectly styled to the side, and piercing green eyes. To top it all off, as he began to speak he displayed a set of immaculately straight, white teeth. I nearly fainted.

"Yeah, nice to meet you too. Did you ask an employee where the hot tub was?" He inquired, then smirked. My blush deepened before I managed to stammer, "Oops. I didn't… Uh, sorry to bother you, thanks anyway!" and promptly turned, wishing for a hole in the ground to open and swallow me whole.

"Hang on a sec," the boy suddenly said - I spun around in surprise.

"Yes?"

"I didn't say I didn't know where it was. I was just curious if you had already asked someone and was just trying to chat me up," he said cockily. I was shocked at his bluntness, and could feel my eyes go wide. I blinked a couple of times before blurting, "I just jumped on the opportunity when I heard you mention it I guess?" And then I began to laugh at myself. Both the boys clearly weren't expecting this response, but they began to laugh as well, even though there wasn't really anything to laugh at.

"What did you say your name was?" The green-eyed boy asked me with a trace of laughter in his voice.

"I'm Adriana Belcastro, I'm 16, and my sister over there--" I quickly scanned around the room again in search of Gabi, and found her hunched over the confectionery selection. I sighed and pointed to her, then chuckled. "Her name is Gabriella, and she's 19." Both boys laughed, before sharing a look.

"Would you give us a sec?" One asked.

"Of course, take your time," I babbled. Of course, I was secretly listening in (as always). I only caught snippets of their conversation, but I could get the gist of it:

"Do you think your dad would mind?"

"No way. He's sick of me hanging around 'bimbos' all the time, and this one doesn't exactly seem like a bimbo."

"But dude…"

"Oi, she's right there. And I'm pretty sure she can hear us."

I kept my eyes firmly glued to the floor and tried to suppress the second blush that crept its way onto my cheeks.

"Adriana?"

I looked up and was shocked to see the clear green eyes boring into my own.

"I'm Oliver, Ollie for short, this is Adam, and we're gonna take you to the hot tub with us."

"Call me Adi."
