(Roxxi's POV)

Following my friend on her mission to find Loki again was probably the stupidest thing I'd ever done... But I had to make sure she was safe.

I had been walking silently behind Danielle in her wolf form for around half an hour, using my superhuman eyesight to track her movements from some distance...

"Shame you haven't taken a soul in a while... If you had then you might've beat me." a voice taunted loudly, the sound echoing through the forest.

The wolf in front of me stopped dead in her tracks and I ran closer so I could see what she could... In a clearing stood two figures; one I didn't recognise, but the other was all too familiar...

Loki coughed and I could see him wince, "Shame your so ugly... If you weren't you might've been fathers heir." he retorted cockily.

Rolling my eyes at his famous attitude I looked on as the other person lost their temper, forcing Loki to the ground with his foot.

"Well I won't have to worry about that when daddy's oh so precious heir is dead, will I?" the mystery guy sneered down at him.

I expected Loki to fight back, or I at least expected him to do something other than just lie back and close his eyes...

They stayed like that for a long moment, Loki on the ground while the mystery guy kept his foot in the centre of his chest so he couldn't get up.

"Get on with it Aidan." Loki muttered, not bothering to open his eyes.

The one called Aidan raised a hand, "Goodbye brother..."

There was a growl from my side as Danielle bounded into the clearing, her hackles raised as she bared her teeth at him.

Slowly lowering his threatening stance and stepping away from Loki, Aidan turned to stare directly at my best friend...

"And what do we have here?" he wandered aloud, a condescending tone to his smooth voice.

At this point Loki had himself propped up against a tree, "Danielle..." he breathed.

The wolf met his eyes, whimpering... But this also meant her attention left Aidan who took the opportunity to pounce, but before he could reach her I blocked his path.

"You won't touch her." I snarled, fangs elongating and iris' turning black.

The menacing man before me began to laugh as he looked at me, "A leech and a werewolf... I never thought id see the day!" he boomed, obviously finding it extremely funny.

"Aidan." Loki said tiredly, "You don't have to do this..."

In a second, Aidan was on the other side of the clearing and his brother was slumped on the floor... He wasn't moving.

Danielle seemed to get even bigger and put more emphasis into her growl, "What did you do?!" I demanded loudly, taking a step forwards.

"Like I'm going to tell you, parasite!" Aidan spat.

Just as Dani launched herself in his direction he vanished into thin air, causing her to end up sprawled on the leaf covered ground...

Not taking any chances I sped over to Loki, "Loki? Can you hear me?" I urged, checking his pulse.

I wasn't sure how to care for a demon as id had no experience, but I had to try at least.

When there was no reply from his still form I swallowed nervously. He had no pulse...

"Dani... We need to get him back to the house. Quickly." I informed her, watching the wolf shake out her fur.

Nodding once she padded over and lowered herself to the floor. The message was clear... Put him on.
