(Danielle's POV)
Once Roxxi left I broke down.
Tears rolled down my face as I sat cross-legged by Loki's still form... He would live, but for that to happen an innocent person must die.
After sitting there for a solid half an hour, I heard a groan...
"Loki?"
His dark eyes opened slowly and focused on me, "Hey beautiful." he smiled, but then his face fell, "Why're you crying??"
Wiping away my tears I looked away from him, "Because for you to get better someone has to die..." I whispered sadly.
He didn't reply for a moment and just as I was about to stand I felt his hand on my cheek, a spark flying as our skin connected. And slowly, gently he turned my head so I was looking down into his eyes...
"If you don't want me to, then I won't." he told me, voice full of truth.
He meant it.
"It's too late..." I sniffed, placing my hand on top of his where he caressed my cheek, "And I can't lose you Loki."
My soulmate dropped his hand and attempted to sit up, but failed badly and fell backwards onto the hard floor.
"Don't sit up. Roxxi will be back soon, then you'll get better..." I told him quietly, leaning forwards slightly with my hand on his chest.
He looked so helpless and more innocent than I'd ever seen him... And the way he swallowed nervously, eyes flitting from my lips to stare deeply into my eyes made me instinctually get closer...
His warm breathe made my skin prickle with anticipation as he chuckled soundlessly, "Do you ever get the feeling that we're being watched??" was all he said, gaze shifting to the window.
Letting my hair fall around us I smirked, "I couldn't care less..." I replied, placing a soft kiss on his lips.
Our kisses became more and more passionate, Loki's lack of energy meaning I was almost completely in control... And I could tell he liked it.
I certainly wasn't complaining!
Until somebody cleared their throat, making me jump quickly to my feet. Roxxi was standing right beside me now and was giving Loki one of her famous, clinical stares...
"I've found somebody... You may want to go ahead and go upstairs Dani." she warned, that intense gaze never relenting.
Nodding absent-mindedly I waved awkwardly at both Loki and Roxxi, slowly shuffling up the stairs and into my bedroom...
I honestly couldn't believe my best friend would save somebody she hated, all because he was my soulmate... That vampire was a mystery.
