Mark viciously shook the towel round his head to dry it a little. He had just had a shower because he had just got back from the gym. He wrapped a different towel round his waist and walked out the bathroom.

Mark jumped and stumbled backwards seeing Jack in his bed. Jack looked up in surprise hearing Mark yell in fright.

"Mark what's wrong??"

"I'm going to be totally honest with you Jack... I forgot you were here."

Jack rolled his eyes and stood up with a smile on his face.

"Ye silly"

"Couldn't agree with you more Jack. Now turn away, I wanna get dressed."

Jack walked towards Mark, making him blush slightly.

"I'm going to the toilet, let me know when your dressed."

"Now your really taking this piss aren't you"

Jack rolled his eyes and closed the bathroom door. Mark turned to his dresser. He put on a blue tee and just some plain black walking trousers. While he was getting dressed and fixing his hair he thought about asking Jack to move in with him, as friends. It had been almost a month now that they've known each other and Mark liked spending time with his best friend.

"Hey Mark? Can I come out now? I'll close my eyes if yar not dressed. I'm just bored of being in here"

Jack laughed a little and so did Mark, he sat on the edge of his bed and smiled.

"Yeah buddy. I'm dressed."

"Thank Goad' took you a while eh?"

Mark nodded, looking down at the carpet, his smile now faded.

"Mark what's up?"

Mark hesitated for a few seconds but then replied.

"Can I have a serious discussion with you? Like proper serious?"

Jack nodded, sat next to Mark, put his hand on his back and started to rub it in soothing circles, knowing something was wrong.

"The thing is... You might not of guessed but.. I'm actually really depressed right now. Well, I was really bad after my ex left me... And I.."

Mark sighed and Jack rested his head on his shoulder.

"I found out... I have this rational fear of being alone.. I did go to therapy and counselling but... It didn't help. I started going to the gym more... Pushing myself too hard... I just feel that I can't do anything that won't hurt me.. I can't love I can't..."

Mark sniffed and wipes his eyes with the back of his hand.

"I just can't do anything...."

"Bullshit. Cuntballs. Shittidy, fuck, fuck crap. All of it"

Mark smiled a little.

"Jack I know your Irish but there's no need to swear"

"There is when ye talk like that. Now listen to me."

Jack sat up and took Mark's hand in his own. Mark looked away, trying to avoid Jacks eye contact.

"Mark. Look at me"

He slowly raised his head to meet Jacks sympathetic gaze.

"Yar not incapable of doing anything. Ye don't need yar ex to make ye happy, ye don't need him. And yar not alo- Mark look at me!"

Mark had looked away because he had started crying. Jack lent forward and used his sleeve to wipe Mark's tears away. He looked at him again.

"Yar not alone Mark. I'm here for ye."

"But not with me! I can't live by myself... I hate it."

Jack felt guilty.

"Would ye like me to move in with ye?"

Mark looked down and nodded while Jack took him into a hug.

"Would ye like to come with me to get my things?"

Mark nodded again, grabbed Jacks hand and used the sleeve to wipe his eyes. Jack chuckled.

"C'mon then."

~~~
Jack had just finished unpacking his clothes when he felt some strong arms wrap around him. He tensed for a minuet then relaxed as the mystery person began to nuzzle into Jacks face, he laughed.
"Mark ye silly, what are ye doing?"
"Celebrating"
Jack rolled his eyes and turned around to see Mark stood, looking happier in his eyes.
"C'mon party animal let's go out."
"Where too?"
"Yar choice. Anywhere ye want."
"Hmm.... The beach?"
Jack nodded. He liked that idea.
~~~

The sun was setting on what was an emotional day. Jack and Mark were cuddled up by the surf of the Californian waters. They were layed on a white beach blanket, Mark's arm around Jack.

"It's beautiful..."

"Yeah 'tis gorgeous"

"Not the sun set."

Jack looked up at Mark who was smiling, looking down at Jack. He looked confused.

"I ment you Jackaboy."

"Jackaboy?"

Jack laughed.

"Yeah. That's my new nickname for you!"

Jack looked deep in thought.

"Gah I can't think of one for ye"

Mark patted Jacks head.

"Don't think too hard you'll blow a blood vestle."

Jack rolled his eyes and looked out at the ocean. The sun was half way set behind the horizon, but the calm ocean water reflected it as if it was full. Jack smiled at the sight and lent on Mark.

"Jack?"

"Mhmm?"

"I was wondering if I could tell you something..."

"I'm all ears."

"Well.... It might be better to show you."

"Did I mention I'm also part eyes? Carry on Mark I'm listening, sorry"

Mark turned over so he was properly facing Jack, he moved some green hair out of his face and rest his hand on Jack's neck. He lent in so that their foreheads touched and they could feel each others warm breath on their faces. They both had their eyes closed because if this was a dream, neither wanted to risk the chance of waking up and not experiencing this moment.

Mark lent in even closer. Jack was layed fully on his back with his arms around Marks waist, whereas Mark was layed almost on top of him.

Once their lips touched it was like the fourth of July in their stomachs, Mark started to kiss Jack but when he hesitated, Mark thought he had messed up, but before he could pull away, Jack kissed back, Mark had never felt this way before. Neither had Jack. And they both liked it.
