"Now you be a good girl for daddy, won't you?" My husband asked our babygirl. She grinned and nodded. "Yes, papa! I'm always good," She said, twirling in her pink nightie.

I smiled at two while standing at the opening of the living room, leaning against the wall with my arms crossed.

He laughed. "Not what I get told," She gasped. "I'm always good! Right daddy?" She asked looking towards my direction.

"Hm, I don't know. What about the other day, when you couldn't get that lolly?" I teased. Her eyes widened. "Don't listen to him, Papa," She said turning to him in hopes he'll believe her.

He laughed and shook his head.

"And you'll take care of Daddy right?" He asked her. She nodded once again. "Good, I'm counting on you," He said before bringing her into his embrace.

I smiled as she wrapped her hands around his torso and squeezed at tight as she could.

"You'll get me something right?" She asked. "Of course baby, something from Italy this time," He smiled.

"I love you, Papa, I'll miss you," She whispered in his ear.

"I love you more babygirl," He said. "And I'll miss you more," He whispered, his head on her shoulder.

"Alright Bub, go ask Maria if she can give you some fruit salad," He said, smiling down at her.

"Yay! Thank you Papa! Bye! I love you!" She smiled running out of the room and straight past me.

"Hey! Where's my kiss?" He yelled. Soon loud footsteps came bounding into the room.

"Right here, papa!" She giggled leaning up.

He bent down as she reached up and kissed his lips.

"Bye papa!" She farewelled once again then ran back out.

He laughed as he watched her run out.

"That girl," He said smiling with fond eyes.

"Come here, darling," He said opening his arms.

I smiled and walked into his open embrace.

"Please be careful," I whispered. I don't wanna wake up to find them coming home without him.

"Aren't I always?" He asked.

"Yeah but there's gonna be a day," I said, shaking my head of the thoughts, my eyes getting watery.

"Hey, I'll be careful," He whispered, lifting my chin up with his fingers and wiping my in fallen tears. I nodded, hoping he'll keep his silent promise.

"Jason, we gotta go," A voice said from behind.

We turned around and saw Alex all suited up and ready.

"Alright," Jason said. Alex nodded and walked away.

I turned around and hugged him again.

"I love you," He whispered into the hug. "I love you," I repeated.

I looked up as he placed his soft lips on mine. I smiled after he ended the small kiss.
