You were sitting in a chair, having your hair and makeup done simultaneously. "This is the life" you said, and you mom let out a chuckle. You smiled. It was your wedding day. You were about to become Mrs. Calum Hood. You had been thinking about this day since before you met Calum, before you knew about 5 seconds of summer, before you could even comprehend love. You were so excited to be getting married and starting a family. There was just one thing missing. "I miss dad" you said, and your mom looked down. Your dad had been in a fatal car accident last year. "I miss him too sweetie" your mom said, and you could tell she had been thinking the same thing. The room was silent as you finished getting ready and went into another room to get your dress on. Your maid of honor and your mom helped you put it on. " Jaymi..." your mom whispered. You looked in the mirror and felt the sting of tears. "I can't cry!" you said, fanning your eyes. You walked out and your other bridesmaids saw you. They gushed over how beautiful you looked. There was a knock at the hotel room door. "No boys allowed" you called out as your mom answered the door. "Hello love" you heard an Australlian accent say, and you froze with your back to the door. "If that's Calum then get out!" you said sternly. "It's Ashton" your mom said laughing. You turned "Oh, sorry about that" you laughed. "Don't be. You look wonderful, Jaymi" he smiled. You smiled back, feeling good to know that someone who didn't have to say it thought you were beautiful. "I wanted to talk to you about something, do you have a moment?" he asked, fidgeting with his hands. You nodded and everyone but your mom left the area to give you some privacy. "So, Calum told me about your father. I can't imagine doing this without him." You looked down, and you welled up. You felt your mom take hold of your hand and squeeze. "I know this must be difficult, but I wanted to see about how you felt about me acting as your father today. I could walk you down the aisle, we could dance together if you wanted to. I never had daughters, so it would be a new thing for me, but if you tell me what to do I would be happy to do it. You're about to become my sister inlaw so I thought I would ask you. Don't feel obligated, and I wouldn't be replacing your dad. Just being a stand in for him. I love you very much, for Calum and I want you to be as happy as you can be on your special day." You were in hysterics. "That's the kindest thing anyone has ever said" you said to Ashton. You gave him a hug and you could hear your mom crying behind you. "I'd be honored if you would be my Dad today." You, your mom and Ashton all laughed. "Ceremony's about to start!" your maid of honor called out. "We should go" you said quietly, wiping the tears off and cleaning up. You got to the door of the ceremony and everyone stood. Niall looked down the aisle and saw you walking arm and arm with his dad, and he started to cry. Later that evening, you and Ashton danced to 'My Girl' by the temptations, which the boys sang. You were so emotional. As you finished dancing, Ashton hugged you close and said "Welcome to the Hood family." You smiled and looked at Calum and he blew you a kiss.
