(The picture above is Keegan and Delia.)
Five years later.
I watch Keegan as he holds his baby sister, Delia. Keegan has just turned four, and Delia is two months old.
It was very hard getting pregnant with Keegan but when it happened I was very careful, I was bed ridden for the last three months. At the time I hated it, but now I realize that it was well worth it.
Delia starts screaming as the tall grass starts tickling her feet and Keegan looks at me with fear in his eyes, for he thinks that he's done something wrong.
I take Delia into my arms gently and rub her back. "The grass tickled her baby, you didn't do anything." I tell him with a smile and he looks at her.
I'm pretty sure that he still doesn't know how to understand that he has a little sister. "Where's daddy?" He asks me. "He's coming. He's still inside doing work.." As I'm saying this he's coming out the door and towards us as we sit in the grass on top of the hill.
"Daddy!" Keegan says grinning and runs towards him and wraps his small arms around him and Percy picks him up and hugs him tightly. "What's up?" He asks smiling.
"I was getting tired of being around only girls." He says with a pout and I can't help but laugh. Percy chuckles and says to him "Aww, well now I'm here. What do you want to do?"
"Play tag!" Keegan says and kicks his legs for Percy to let him go, which he does. Keegan pokes his arm and yells "You're it!" And he starts running away from Percy.
I look down at Delia and smile as she plays with grass in her hands. I chuckle and ask her "What are you doing, baby girl?" And she giggles. I smile and play with her hair as I hear Keegan scream as Percy catches him.
I guess you could say life is pretty good for us.
Taiylor walks over to me and takes a seat next to Delia and I. She reaches for Delia and I hand her to her. "You guys haven't been at camp that much." She says to me and I nod with a slight frown. "I know, Percy's has been busy and I've been busy with the kids. But soon Keegan should be starting pre school, and that should help and I can come down to camp more."
She grins and says "Yayyyy." She looks down and Delia and holds her hands and Delia starts chewing on Taiylor's finger. Taiylor makes a disgusted face and I start to laugh. "It's not funny..its gross." She says pulling her hand away.
"Taiylorrrrr!" Keegan says and tackles her from behind, which almost crushes Delia in the process. "Keegan, be gentle." And he frowns but then smiles right after as he hugs Taiylor.
"What's up, little man?" He starts telling her about how his game of tag went with Percy and how Percy kept faking how he was running. "He would run super slow just so I could get him. It made me mad." She tries not laugh and says "I'm sorry bro. I'll play tag with you if you want?" She offers and his eyes light up. "Yeah!" And she hands Delia to me and off they go.
I'll catch you up on everything that has happened.
Since Percy became activities director he's been really busy, busier than we thought he would. He comes home around seven at night and then he works on what he's planning. He goes in the mornings and has meetings with Chiron, I guess he tutors him. Then in the afternoon he teaches archery.
I've stopped teaching my classes lately since Delia's been born. So I've been home watching the kids. But a lot of people come by to help so I can get things done, so I've been able to teach every now and then.
I don't mind that much because I love being with my kids, but sometimes I miss the way things used to be. When Percy and I had a lot of time together, when I could teach, and he hung out with campers. But I also wouldn't change the way things are now. We're so lucky to have Keegan and Delia, and I love them to death.
