chapter 13

Marshall's pov

It had already bin a week and me and fionna were walking inside our house when we noticed someone sitting on our couch eater our strawberries. The person turned around and I noticed it was Millie's face. Like usual he had a smile on his face and a letter in hand. "well welcome home" she said with a chuckle. "I got a little something for you here marshy a little important that you must have forgotten?" she said smile growing. I looked at her dumbly then my eye's widened. Every hundred years I have to go to the Nightosphere to make sure everything is ok. And because it's my kingdom. It's to dangerous so I don't think fionna should come along. I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if anything bad happened to her. "well here you go" Millie said tossing me the envelope. I saw her smile and open the portal to the nightosphere and leave through it. Fionna looked at me curiously. I knew it was time to tell her that this would be my last day here before I left for a year. After I told her she began to cry into my shirt while I rubbed her head. It was about eight and I wanted to do something special with fionna before I had to leave at midnight. We went out to eat then we found a tree and sat under it looking at the stars. Fionna was in my lap cuddling up to me and began to close her eyes. She was beginning to fall asleep but I knew she was trying hard to stay awake so she could spend more time with me. I didn't like her trying to struggle awake to stay with me before I left so I began to sing her a song so she could fall asleep.

When I stopped singing I felt fionna asleep in my arms. I saw the sun begin to rise so I picked her up and began flying us to our house. When we got there I tucked fionna into bed and gave her a quick kiss. I didn't want to leave her alone so I floated downstairs and called one of Fionna's old friends from the high school to look after her. About ten minutes later I heard a knock at the door and went to go open it. I opened it to find Fionna's old friend from high school, Mackenzie. She smiled and floated into the house. I floated upstairs and grabbed my suitcase then floated back down. "ok so you promise to take care of her right?" I said looking serious. "I Mackenzie the vampire swear I will not let my friend fionna get hurt" she said with her hand raised up in a vow pose. I nodded my head in agreement and opened a portal to the nightosphere. I soon heard the portal close and looked around to find myself in my moms office. I felt someone tap me on the shoulder and I turned around to find my moms assistant Maranda. She smiled and asked me to follow her. We started walking down a hall and stopped at a door. "this will be your office like usual and you bed room is down the hall to the right just like last time." she said with a smile. I smiled and nodded and watched as she walked away. I opened the door and walked in closing it behind me with a sigh. I floated over looking at my old desk and bookcase in the room and other old stuff I had. I opened my suitcase and took a picture of me and fionna from our wedding day and sat it down on my desk and smiled. I really am going to miss her for a year. I sighed and went out of the room towards my bedroom to start unpacking.

Fionna's pov

I got up and yawned. I then began to look around and looked at the alarm clock that read 11:32 a.m. I sighed at the thought of not being able to see marshall for a whole year but then got the idea to write a letter to him everyday and smiled at the idea. I floated out of bed and downstairs. I past a girl with brown hair, a bunny pin, wearing a blue shirt with a peace sign on it and smiling while watching an old t.v. show. she looked kinda familiar, "good morning" I said to the stranger then I stopped dead in my tracks. Wait isn't that Mackenzie, in me and Marshalls house?!!! I turned around wide eyed and scared. "boo" I heard her say and I passed out. "Ha! this is going to be a super fun year with Fi!" I heard her say and then I blacked out...
