Faith stood transfixed, frozen in fear, gazing at the enormous Cyclops.
Nico said a few choice words that would have gotten him kicked out of several schools.
"This is bad." He summed up, after a round of cursing.
Faith just whimpered. The group had gotten split up when a group of angry centaurs charged them. Nico and Faith were on their own, faced with an evilly grinning, one-eyed terror.
"Dinner." He rasped. Faith squeaked in alarm.
Another Cyclops bounded into the clearing, completely trapping them.
"Well that's just great!" Nico snapped. "This is fantastic. Oh, Hades, this is just perfect!!!" Faith stepped back from him in alarm. Had he said... Hades? It didn't really matter. They were both about to die anyways.
Faith pulled out her wand, hands shaking. She wasn't going down without a fight. But before she could use any spells, Nico grabbed her arm, and everything dissolved into shadows.
They reappeared in another clearing, where everyone else had already gathered. Still grumbling, Nico let go of her arm, and stalked off.
"What happened Death Breath?" Thalia asked.
Nico muttered something in another language. Faith somehow recognized it as Ancient Greek, and even understood a few of the phrases. Something about 'stupid monsters', 'smelled us', 'had to shadow travel', and 'eat my pants'. Strange.
"What just happened?" Faith asked, her voice quavering.
"We were attacked." Nico replied in English. Faith rolled her eyes.
"Well, obviously," she replied, trying to sound unconcerned, but failing, her voice quavering.
"You see... well, you know the myths about Greek gods and monsters?" Faith nodded slowly, not seeing what this had to do with anything.
"They're real. All of them."
Faith nodded her head, then backed away very slowly.
"Ok. Well. Um, you're not joking are you?" Nico shook his head gravely.
"Oh." Faith was still backing away, now smiling falsely.
"Well, while this has been fun, I think I'm going to head back to the castle now."
"We're not crazy. You saw the Cyclops too." Nico said.
Faith froze in her retreat and sighed. She sat down on a nearby stump.
"Explain then."
So they explained. Faith sat, listening skeptically at first, but the way they described their experiences made her feel like they were telling the truth.
"When I was eleven, I was attacked." She said cautiously.
"By this... thing. I don't know how to describe it. My mum killed it, but we were both shaken up. Do you think it could've been a Greek monster?" All the demigods nodded.
"Do you just live with your mom?" Thalia asked.
"Yeah. Why?"
"It's possible your dad could've been a god." Faith stared at Thalia.
"That would make me-"
"A demigod." Hazel finished.
"The demigod we were sent here to find." Nico added.
Faith was stunned.
"You were sent to Hogwarts to... to find me?" She asked.
"If you're a demigod."
Suddenly, a blazing symbol appeared over Faith's head. Faith stood shocked, staring at the fiery sun that had appeared above her head.
"The symbol of Apollo," Thalia said.
"So I AM a demigod," Faith said dazedly.
Suddenly, Hermione screamed.
Faith looked around expecting to see more Cyclopses. She didn't see anything. Then she glanced up.
"It's a-a d-dragon!!!" She stuttered. The dragon circled in the sky once before coming down to land. Surprisingly, none of the demigods moved.
Nico was smirking, Hazel was grinning, Leo had a stunned and jealous expression, and Thalia looked mildly impressed.
Harry and Hermione were gaping at the dragon, looking to be on the verge of sprinting away. Faith thought her expression probably matched theirs.
"Told you Frank would be second." Nico said.
"Well I didn't know he could do dragon form already." Thalia griped. Harry, Hermione and Faith exchanged confused expressions.
Then 'Frank the Dragon' turned into a burly Chinese teenager. He looked extremely embarrassed. Hazel ran over to him, and kissed him.
"I think a couple mortals saw me." He muttered, face red.
"It's cool, bro, the Mist will have covered it up. They probably thought you were a very large vulture or something." Leo laughed.
"Why a vulture?" Frank complained.
"Because you aren't majestic enough to be an eagle." Leo replied easily. Hazel rolled her eyes and kissed Frank again.
"I think you would make a very majestic eagle, Frank." She said.
Faith giggled, still staring dazedly at the boy who had been a dragon.
Suddenly, a rainbow shimmered in the air.
The image of three people, two boys and a girl, flickered into view.
"Percy!" Yelled Nico and Thalia.
"Annabeth!" Leo, Hazel, and Frank screamed.
"Ron!" Harry and Hermione shouted.
All at the same time.
"Hey." All three of them said.
Faith stood, very shocked and uncomfortable.
"Hi," she said.
The three people in the rainbow turned to look at her. Percy grinned, Annabeth analyzed her curiously yet cautiously, and Ron stared at her in utter confusion.
"You're all ok!" Hazel exclaimed happily.
"Yeah! I tied up Moldyvort and went and rescued Annabeth and Ron." Percy said. They stepped aside to show the Dark Lord bound to a tree by duct tape.
"We just IM-ed you guys to tell you we were fine." Annabeth said.
"Oh! This is Faith by the way. She's that demigod we were looking for."
Nico gestured to Faith who waved awkwardly.
"Nice to meet you." Annabeth said politely.
"Anyways we have to-"
The Iris Message suddenly cut off. There was silence for a moment on their end, and they waited to see if Percy and Annabeth would send another, only to have complete utter silence.
Then a piercing scream sounded.
