"Max can you please stay" I beg him as I sit down on the edge of our bed. He looks down at me without saying a word. "Please stay, it's our anniversary" I cry out to him. He looks at me while buttoning up his gray suit jacket. "I got things to do" he simply answers before walking out our room.
I put my head down as I feel the tears start to build up. He always does this to me, he always leaves me even when it's our wedding anniversary. I sometimes regret marrying him but there's no going back now, he's rich and that's what my family needs.
Me, to be married to a rich man that can pay off all their debts.
I lay down when a tear escapes me. I love Maxwell and I wish I could spend as much time with him as possible but he neglects me, even after being married to him for three years already.
I stand up when I hear my stomach grumble. I haven't ate and I'm hungry. I make my way downstairs when I bump into one of the maids, she looks me up and down and walks away.
It isn't the first time she looks at me like that, I know Max sleeps around with her. But if I try getting rid of her, she'll just come back.
I take a deep breath and continue my way down the staircase. I walk into the dining room as a maid walks in, "hello Mrs, Arias. Would you like me to serve you dinner?" She kindly ask. I smile at her and tell her yes.
I'm glad that at least some maids still respect me around here. The maid comes back with a plate of food for me, she sets it down in front of me and pours red wine into a wine glass for me. I smile and thank her for it.

It's one in the morning when Maxwell arrives home, he walks into our room. I sit up as I look at him. He pulls off his tie and looks down at me. "Why aren't you asleep?" He ask. "I was waiting for you" I answer him, he nods and walks into the bathroom without saying anything else.
A little while later he comes out fully showered. I keep my eyes on him as he walks into the closet to change into something to sleep in. He then walks back out and lays down on the bed beside me, "Max" I whisper. He turns his head and looks up at me.
"Do you love me?" I ask him, I feel my eyes fill up with tears again. He stays quiet and doesn't answer me, I wipe my tears away and lay down on the bed facing away from him.
"Don't ask when you already know the answer" I hear him whisper behind me, my body trembles when I try to hold back the tears. He doesn't love me and I feel as if he never did.
What we had before was special and he suddenly changed. Now he makes me feel as if he only married me just to be married to someone and to show me off to his friends, but I married him because I love him, because I thought that we could be happy together for the rest of our lives.
"I hired a butler" he says. I don't answer him and force myself to fall asleep instead.

I wake up as usual at six in the morning, I turn over to see that Maxwell is gone, as always. I get up and get ready for the day. Once I finish taking a shower, I put on a pair of blue jeans with a navy blue blazer that has a white shirt underneath. I put on a pair of high heels and pin my hair up into a perfect bun.
I need to at least act like the perfect wife during the day. I walk downstairs when I hear the door bell rings. I wasn't expecting any company today, when I open the front door I see a handsome man standing there with a smirk on his face. He's wearing a black suit and his eyes travel down my body.
I clear my throat to get his attention. "May I help you?" I ask, he smiles and winks at me. "Yes, Mr. Arias hired me to work here" he says. I raise an eyebrow in question. "Exactly what for?" I ask. "Well" he says as he looks down beside him, I look down to see a black suitcase standing beside him.
"I'm pretty sure he must of said something about a butler" he says as he looks at me again. It then hits me that Max said he hired a butler last night. But why would he hired a butler?, we don't even need one. "May I come in?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.
I sigh and step to the side to let him in. He walks in while pulling his suitcase along. "Very nice" he says as he looks around the entrance. "I'm not exactly sure why we need a butler, but help yourself to any of the rooms upstairs on the second floor" I tell him. He looks back at me and nods, "I start tomorrow so I might as well settle down now"
I walk away without hearing anything else that he's saying. I don't care why he's here as long as he doesn't get in my way everything should be okay. I head straight to the bar and pour myself a drink. It usually helps me relax, I couldn't go a day without one at least.
"I would say that it's too early to be drinking" I roll my eyes as I look at the new butler standing beside me, "no one really asked for your opinion" I hiss as I bring the glass up to my lips. He looks at me as I finish the rest of my drink in one go. I set the empty glass down on the bar. "You are just the new butler after all"
