"You're just the butler" I whisper. Hurt and anger cover Aeneas eyes, the look in his eyes becomes hard and I watch as anger completely covers the hurt in his eyes. Aeneas doesn't say a word, instead he walks right pass me and exits out the room.
Why did I just do that? Why did I tell him that? I knew it was going to hurt him, but that's what I wanted, I wanted to hurt him, to push him away from me.
I close the door and slowly sink to the floor, I'm confused about this. Aeneas just told me he's falling for me, but what is it that I really feel for him? Is it lust? Just a crush? Or something more than that?

"Mrs. Arias- dinner is ready" the maid knocks on the door. I push my legs away from my chest and stand from the floor. I open the door to see the maid standing there with a kind smile on her face. "I'll be down in a second" I whisper, the maid nods and leaves.
It's usually Aeneas who comes and tells me that dinner is ready, but I guess he decided to send the maid up today to avoid seeing me. I run my hand back through my hair to make sure that it's okay before stepping out my room.
I make my way downstairs and into the dining room, Max hasn't arrived and I'm not surprise about it. I sit myself down on Maxwells seat which is at the head of the table. A few minutes later the maid walks in with a plate of cooked food, she smiles as she sets the plate down in front of me.
"What would you like to drink Mrs. Arias?" She kindly ask. I smile up at her, "water will do" I answer. The maid leaves with a nod, a minute later she returns with a glass of water. She sets it down and excuses herself.
I'm not hungry, I don't feel like eating. All I want to do is lay in bed at this moment. Aeneas face crosses my mind and I can't seem to get this feeling that's inside of me, out. The anger in his eyes told me that he was clearly upset about me calling him just a butler.
I did wrong, but I had to push him away. I'm married and I can't let whatever we have continue any further. I look up to see Max walk into the dining room with a dozen red roses in hand. He instantly smiles when he sees me
"Athalia" he calls out to me, Max gives me a kiss on the forehead and hands me the dozen red roses. I can't remember the last time that he bought me roses, he knows how much I love them. "I want to apologize about earlier" Max sits down on the chair beside me, the maid comes back and starts to set out Max's food.
"I shouldn't have brought something like that up. I want to ask you for forgiveness but I also want us to work on this" he finish saying when the maid leaves. I keep my eyes on him without saying a word. I close my eyes and Max grabs my hand, his touch is warm but I don't feel anything, nothing at all.
"Athalia?" He whispers, "I want to take you out tomorrow, it didn't work last time but this time I promise nothing will come in between our date" he says with a small smile on his lips. He's my husband and he wants to work things out, I can't say no to him when he wants to try to make us work. "Okay" I pull my hand away from underneath his and grab my fork. Max smiles, we start to eat our food.

Maxwell's cellphone starts to ring on the nightstand, he's inside the shower at the moment. I reach over and grab it when it doesn't stop ringing. As I'm about to reject the call, I see that it's an unknown number.
Who could have called him? My fingers itch to go through his phone, after a few seconds of arguing with myself about whether to go through his phone or not, I do.
His phone is unlocked and I quickly start to go through his text messages, there aren't many text messages. Just some from his friends and from work. I get out and decide to check his email next, the first email that pops up is from someone named Annabelle.
I open it and read it, 'why are you ignoring my calls? Can you please call me, I've been trying to reach you... I miss you'
I turn the phone off and put it back down on the nightstand, the email was read and he didn't reply. It doesn't come to a surprise to me that he would still have some sort of contact with these women. I hear the shower turn off and I sit at the edge of the bed.
The door of the bathroom opens a few seconds later, Max stops when he sees me waiting for him. Water drops are dripping down from his wet hair and chest, a white towel is wrapped around his torso. "Is something wrong? You look upset" he ask me. I shake my head no.
"Your cell phone kept ringing" I say, Max stays quiet, he glances at me before walking into the closet to change. "It was probably work" he says. Probably work? He's lying, if it was work it wouldn't had said unknown number on the caller I.D.
"Don't lie to me!" I shout, I quickly stand and swing the door open, "Athalia-" I slam the door shut before I'm able to hear him say anything else, I make my way downstairs and out the back towards the pool house. As I open the glass doors, I see Aeneas sitting on the edge of the pool, he's wearing a white t-shirt with gray sweats. I step inside and make sure to close the doors behind me.
I quietly make my way towards him, he doesn't even turn around to look at me, but I know that he knows that I'm here. I sit down beside him, with my legs against my chest. We stay in silence, an intense silence. "Aeneas?" I whisper after a few minutes. He ignores me, he doesn't even take a glance at me.
I can't stand this, I can't stand to be ignored by him like he's doing right now. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry about what I said" I whisper. Aeneas sighs and closes his eyes, "you know, there are a lot of things that you don't know about me" he speaks. My heart beat slows down when I hear his voice, it brings me calmness.
"Like what?" Aeneas looks at me, his eyes seem to be more blue than they usually are. "Like who I really am" he whispers, we fall into silence and I get confused about what he's saying. "What are you talking-", "Athalia" I jump to my feet to see Max standing by the glass doors. He glares at Aeneas and then at me. "What's going on?" He ask, I'm able to hear the jealousy behind his voice.
"Nothing, I just came to get some air" I say, I walk towards him and grab hold of his hand. Max looks back at Aeneas before nodding at me, he starts to pull me out the pool house.
For some reason I look back to see Aeneas looking straight ahead, he isn't even looking at me. His eyes are on the pool, his back is facing me and it hurts to see him not looking back at me.
