No nightmares, seems unrealistic. My awful nightmare kept replaying over and over, like a jukebox that was drenched in applesauce; at least I hope it's applesauce. I wished I knew why, like why do cats have to hate dogs or fruit flies are only meant for fruit. It doesn't make sense! In each dream I tried to do something different, small details and such, but nothing worked. Finally I woke up, peacefully. I was laid on a extremely comfy couch, in like heavenly blankets. I tried to unwrap myself. Being a caterpillar has its delicacies.
I rolled right off the couch and onto the floor.
"Wow! That couch is super comfy. Is it upholstery" I tried getting off floor. The blanket slipped off me like silk. No pain. I wasn't sure what to think of it. It's something that's normal for me, pain, it shouldn't be but it was. I jumbled up my sleeves, no blood. The cuts were sinking through my skin, looking as if they were only mere scars."Only you could know that! I'm in the kitchen getting lobsters for dinner, Yay! Whoa wait are you allergic to lobsters, fish and stuff like that? Do you even have allergies?" Just by the joyful tone, you could tell it was Nana. I got up from the ground. White walls, wood floors, vintage furniture, timber frame, lobsters, Nana was filthy rich. It took me a couple minutes to actually find the kitchen! The house was colossal.
I sat at the counter and stared at the pot filled red lobsters. Nana's silver waves were swaying in her ponytail and she was in a giant lime green apron that said 'Got Lobstah?'
"Oh, you found the kitchen, goody! Are you feeling better?""Got Lobstah?" She looked down at her apron and chuckled.
"Oh, Ellis. I lived in Boston for a good portion of childhood. I go back there to see your great grandparents at their graves. This is just a tacky apron I picked up at the airport gift shop." It didn't look tacky to me. I mean, it was spotless. It turned out, I wasn't the only one to notice the cuts weren't cuts anymore."It looks like the herbal tea worked, huh, no more bad cuts." She looked as though she was proud of some achievement I had no idea she did. I smirked, trying to fit in.
"Speaking about that, Nana, I wanted to as-" the biggest rabbit I've ever seen emerged from around the counter. It was about the size of a medium sized dog, it was humongous! It had a caramel glow.
"What's that?" I pointed at it as it was hopping around. Twitching one eye.
"Oh? Oh! That's a rabbit."
"I kinda already got that, Nana. But what breed is it to be that big?" I asked suspiciously.
"Fido is a caramel Flemish Giant rabbit, I'm pet sitting for my neighbor down the street." She glimmered. I wanted to pet the thing, but it gave me the creeps. It just kept staring into my eyes. Silence was spreading in the room like a wildfire."Shoot! I need to buy more butter, yes butter!" She steamed. She snapped in my face for I was wondering off into the eyes of the bunny. It caught my attention toward Nana.
"Now, Ellis, I'm going to go out to the food market on the other side of Lansing. I'm trusting you to take care of Fido for me, if Mrs. Mills finds out I let him out of my sight; I would be toast." My eyes widen at the name Mrs. Mills."Mrs. Mills!?" She was baffled at my response.
"Yeah? She has a daughter in Cincinnati?" I was shocked in the way I heard it. Confused she redirected my attention again. "Are you even listening? Ellis, I'm going to be gone for a good three hours and I need you to watch the bunny named Fido, remember?" I snapped out of it."Yeah" I nodded my head in response.
"Good! Don't touch the lobsters, no dead dogs, I mean, bunnies." She kissed my forehead and left from the backdoor. There was a whiff of fresh grass from the other side. I turned around to find the bunny at my feet, sniffing me. I picked the bunny up and whispered in its ear.
"Now where's the library? Huh, do you know? You little creepy, cute ball of fur, you!" I petted Fido.
I went up a flight of stairs, down two halls and found it my right. A room of my dreams, a room dedicated to books and only books. I sat in a tall red throne-type of chair in paradise. I grabbed a bunch of books that should've been called ancient, such a depressing view to be seen, no covers, ripped pages, fading ink. I normally read fiction books about adventures in space and castles, I also admire a great mystery novel. Til I saw 'Pride and Prejudice', one of my favorite and only romance books, in mint condition! I opened the window and put Fido on my lap, a spot where I could pet him as I read. Eight chapters out loud to him for what it seemed like an amazing forever.
