''Alright nerds!,'' Beca called out to the eager group of auditionees on the stage, ''Let's go with David Guetta's Titanium, you will each prepare and perform sixteen bars of it''. There were a few nods of approval from both the freshman students standing on the stage and the a capella groups seated infront of it. The college year had just started fresh and it was time for Barden University's two a capella groups, The Barden Bellas and The Treble Makers, to replace those students that had just graduated. When the previous leader of the Bellas, Aubrey, left and handed down the pitch pipe to Beca, she was excited for the new season, and excited to put together some great arrangements. When she had told her dad, Dr.Mitchell, who was a proffessor at the college, he was shocked.

''This time last year you wanted nothing to do with even attending college, let alone leading an a capella group on campus,'' he had smirked, ''Whatever happeed to moving to L.A and becoming a DJ?''.

''There's plenty of time for that, dad. It won't kill to wait another year,'' Beca had told him. He was right, at this time last year Beca detested the idea of staying in college and had really only joined the Bellas because her dad had said that if she made an effort he'd help her move to L.A after the college year. But Beca didn't want to move to L.A anymore, she surprisingly found college life to be just as great as everyone claimed, and, even more surprisingly, she loved being a part of the Bellas. After she got her hands on Aubrey's boring, dated arrangements and transofrmed them into upbeat, more modern ones she enjoyed it even more, and once again, after winning ICCA'S, a collegiate a capella competition, she found herself thinking maybe syncronized lady singing didn't suck as much as she thought.

The freshmans all scurried off stage to prepare their pieces for their auditions. The Bellas had two places to fill, which had previously belonged to seniors Chloe and Aubrey. Now compromising of Beca, Fat Amy (who called herself this so ''twig bitches'' didn't do it behinde her back), Cynthia Rose, Lilly, Stacie, Denise, Jessica and Ashley, the Bellas were hoping to find two amazing singers to fill the gaps.

''Great song choice,'' Beca turned around to see her boyfriend Jesse, leader of the Treble Makers, climbing over the seats towards her. Jesse was tall and had dark hair and dark eyes. He was incredibly cute, but in a sexy way. He stepped over one last chair and plonked himself next to Beca, swinging his arm around her shoulders.

''I do approve, but I do NOT think anyone of these freshmen are gonna sing this song as great as you do,'' Jesse planted a kiss on Beca's head.

''Shut up, nerd'' she joked, ruffling his hair. Upon arriving to Barden University on their first day, Jesse had sung to Beca out of a car window as she stood waiting to be directed to her dorm. They both took on internships at the school's radio station and Jesse immediately developed a crush on Beca. There was just something about how mysterious she appeared at first, and her punk-alternative look (complete with ear spike) attracted him to her straight away. Although at first Beca didn't feel the same, she soon fell for the boy-next-door and they got together right after ICCAs.

''But seriously, we are going to kick your butts so hard at ICCAs this year,'' Jesse playfully hit Beca on the shoulder.

''Aca-scuse me!?'' Beca laughed, play fighting right back.

''Hey! Can you guys make your aca-babies somewhere else maybe?,'' Fat Amy threw a paper plane at the couple and mocked gagging. Jesse planted a kiss on Beca's lips. When he pulled away he bit his lip and looked at Fat Amy, one brow raised. Beca couldn't help but think how hot he looked.

Just as the time for the freshmen to prepare their pieces had run out, Jesse stood up and made his way back to his seat amongst his fellow Trebles. The first freshman made her way onto stage.

''My name is Alice,'' she said awkwardly, before closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. ''Do, do, do, do do do,'' she began her a capella rendition of the chart topping song. This was followed by a stream of 25 freshmen, mainly terrible singers. The Bellas had noticed two girls however, one with a big voice that was comparable to Christina Aguilera, and one with a sweet voice like Lilly Allen. After all the students had auditioned and left, the Bellas sat together and deicded that these were the girls, and Beca and Fat Amy volunteered to contact the lucky singers. They just knew that this was going to be a great season for them.
