Spiderman

I wake up on the couch, shivering violently. I rub my eyes as I wobble over to the window I don't even remember opening. In the center of the now closed window is a red sticky note with black writing. He would pick the colors of his suit. I roll my eyes a little the read the note:

Pete, I'm taking a job. Pay's superb.
Be back in two days
Left you something in your room😊

Two days...there have been times when I've gone months without seeing him. This shouldn't be too awful. But...what did he leave in my room?

My eyes widen. It better not be another fucking bomb. I swear if this whole cozying up to me thing was just leading to him, leaving a bomb in my room...I'll kill him over and over again...

I carefully open the door to my bedroom and poke my head inside. Okay, it's not blowing up yet. Good sign. I climb up the wall as slowly as possible trying not to trigger anything. There's something red poking out from under my sheets. I looks like....is he for real right now? I jump down to the floor next to my bed and slowly pull back the covers. I grin ear to ear, unable to stop myself.

All tucked into my bed is a build-a-bear with Deadpool's suit on. I pull back the mask and find delicate scars woven into its fur. I put it to my chest and snuggle it tightly. This thing is so perfect and adorable. I inhale and find it also smells the same way he does, like pizza grease, mint and sweat, hint of blood. The bear is almost the size of my torso and it even has his katanas. They don't come out of the cases though. I sit little Wade on my desk next to my computer. I gotta get some homework done.

I get maybe 45 minutes worth of work done when I hear a siren.

"Looks like I'm off," I tell Little Wade. I give him a hug. "God, I'm talking to a bear." I change into my Spiderman costume and leap out the window.

I follow the police cars to find an officer pacing anxiously.

"What'd we got?" I ask her.

"Venom's taken a kid and one of our men hostage so he could escape. We don't know if either of them are still alive in there," she replies. Her worry overwhelms her voice. "Please, Spiderman. That's my brother and my son."

I nod to her, putting my hand on her shoulder as a comfort and she takes a deep breath.

Priority: the hostages. Let's get this over with, I think as I swing into the building.

******

I swing out of the window with the little boy in my arms and the officer clinging to my back. The woman with whom I spoke earlier, reaches out for the boy and embraces him tightly.

"Thank you! Thank you! Oh God I could never be able to repay you. I owe you everything, Spiderman, " she cries. Her brother embraces her and the boy together.

I feel myself getting weaker. Venom got me with his claws on my side and I think I'm starting to bleed out. I've gotta get somewhere safe. My healing factor isnt nearly as fast as Deadpool's, but if I wait long enough, I'll heal enough that I'll be able to get home. Venom screeches and crawls out of the building. The police start to fire and I decide now is the time to pull a Batman and get out.

By the time the woman has turned around I'm long gone. I make it back to the fire escape of my apartment. The landing causes me to collapse and I crawl desperately to my room and trying not to be seen. I flop, still bleeding onto my bed. I look over and see Little Wade staring down at me.

It's gonna be a long two days.
