Lila's true feelings

The next day,Phoebe and Gerald walked into school holding hands,officially announcing that they were going out .Helga was so happy for Phoebe and she was glad it was Gerald and not some creep or nerd.Arnold felt the same way but soon forgot when he saw Helga walk passed him.She had decided to try a new look for a while to see how it would work,and she rocked the look.She put down those pigtails and straitened her hair which happened to be fairly long and quite stunning with the black long sleeve t-shirt with a star in the middle and bright blue jeans.The outfit really complimented what ever body she had.Her old outfit hid all her features and was really just getting old.Arnold wasn't the only one who noticed,It was all Rhonda would talk about,"It's like she's trying to be ME!I mean come on,no one can compare to Rhonda Wellington Lloyd"she stammered,"I don't know Rhonda I think she looks just ever-so nice"Lila responded in her sweet voice.

People still dressed like Helga no matter what she wore.She had to keep up the bad girl stuff,but of course Arnold understood,he didn't approve but he decided it could not be helped so he had to except it."Hello Arnold"said a sweet voice from right behind him,"Huh-Oh hey Lila"he responded.

"Why are standing in the middle of the hallway?"she asked

"Oh!I didn't realize I was"Arnold said a little flustered,he started walking and Lila followed.

There was a bit of silence when Arnold got caught in his thoughts again.

"Pennie for your thoughts,I'd ever-so like to know"Lila interrupted his thoughts

"Well...."Arnold said wondering if he should tell her,"It's Helga"he finally said

"Helga?"Lila said a bit surprised,"What about her?"

"Well,recently it's been different.I don't know what it is but I just can't stop thinking about her."He said sounding very confused but also smiling.

Lila was a little sad to here this,"I think you just ever-so love her,Arnold"

Arnold stopped and looked at her.Lila looked at him smiling but her eyes were very sad.

"It's okay Lila"he said to her,he wiped away a falling tear away with his thumb.

"Thank you,Arnold.I have to tell you now..."Lila said.

"Tell me what?" Arnold asked her

"Arnold....I love you"

Stop.Everything froze on Arnold.Lila was right in front of him,she had just confessed what he had wanted to hear for so long.He didn't know what to do.

"I know you at least used to like me back,but I have to know.Do you still like me back?"Lila asked him.
