It’s almost dawn when Narcissus and Zephyr fly back to The Darklord Mansion. The sun started to raise in the east and dutifully blessed the world with it’s sunshine. Despite of the rays that’s warming his skin, Narcissus couldn’t help but shiver. Not out of cold, but out of fear and insecurities. Not knowing what danger is ahead of them, lurking in the dark unknown, waiting to pounce on them and harm them makes him shudder. He could not bear the thoughts of seeing Astrea harmed and he couldn’t do anything to protect her. He gritted his teeth as he flew towards the building that stood before him. Something have to be done, at all cost, to protect his beloved.
Not wanting to risk her seeing him in his devil form, Narcissus navigate himself to his own balcony and landed there with a graceful thump. Slowly, his dark wings folded back into his back and he transform back to his human form, which is less intimidating and scary. Zephyr was already in the house, hunting down some food to gobble down for breakfast, claiming that he’s very hungry and could eat like a horse. Narcissus had to snort at his statement. In some ways, Zephyr is actually a horse. Well, almost. Take away the wings, then he will be one.
Narcissus grunt as he felt aches all over his body. His power is really fading. He pushed the sliding door open and enter his room, strip down to his boxers before leaping for the bed, and when he’s just about to get some rest, he heard an annoying knock on his door.
“This better be good!” he grunt as he lazily get up to open the door, not even bothering to get dress and look decent for whoever it is that’s knocking the door. And so, he opened the door for the unwelcome knocker, only to reveal a a dashing, fuming woman. She looked at his state of undress, and her face glow slightly more.
“Darling?” he asked.
“You!” she jabbed her finger to his smooth chest, trying as hard as she could not to sound smitten.
“Uh, good morning to you too.” he grinned, knowing too well that she’s too distracted to say what she actually came for.
“You! You left me to sleep alone! You lie, you cheat! You said you’ll accompany me as long as I want you to.” she accused, still jabbing on his chest. Now he had to laugh. the jabbing not only tickles, but her the expression that she’s wearing on her face is hilarious. It’s as if she just found out that someone stole her favourite candy and ate it without even leaving her any. She paused in her venting for a while to feast on his body. He’s definitely an eye candy.
“Are you hungry?” he asked her as he caught hold of her dainty hand and kissed her dainty fingers softly. She’s clearly distracted.
“No… yes…” she blurted.
“So, which one is it, yes or no?” he teased as her eyes danced on his godly body.
“Stop! You’re distracting me.”
“Am I?” he laughed, his eyes dancing with mirth beneath his mask.
“Why did you leave me last night? I thought you said you’ll stay with me,” she said, clearly was upset.
“I’m so sorry, I wasn’t feeling so well, so I thought some fresh air would do me good. I had wanted to go back to you, but I was afraid that I’d wake you up,” he lied, and she frowned. Concern immediately registered on her still drowsy and flustered feature.
“You were not well? Are you having fever or some sort?” she asked, her other free hand immediately flew to his forehead to touch his skin. And he was right in saying so, as his skin felt like an open flame under her cold palm.
“Gosh, you’re right, you’re practically burning,” she said, voice laced with worries.
“It’s all right, do not concern yourself. It will pass, my darling. All I need is some rest, and I’ll be fine, I promise,” he said, but her concerns is not to be dismissed easily. She practically pushed him to the bed and forced him to lie down.
