Maybe So

It's a lovely, chilly day in early September. Sherman and I are currently sitting on the couch, watching TV. "Hey, Alyssa. In a few days, it'll mark an entire year since you've been here," Sherman says happily. I grin and say "I know! So much has happened in this entire year since I've been here. I met you and the others, became a part of the Teenagers, and in two months, I'll be bringing our daughter Lily into the world." Happily, Sherman places his hand on my baby bump and says "I'm so excited. I can't wait to meet her. Hey Lily, daddy loves you" before kissing my baby bump. "Mommy loves you too, Lily," I respond, grinning and placing my hand on my baby bump. Still, I wonder when the Teenagers will be signed to another record label.

A few hours later, Sherman and I are in the kitchen, fixing lunch. "Hell yeah, pasta," I say, grinning. Suddenly, I hear the phone ringing. I make my way to the phone, answer it, and say "Hello?" Then, I hear Herman's lovable, adorable, chipper voice say "Alyssa! I have some really wonderful news!" "What is it, Herman?" I respond, wondering what this wonderful news could be. Then, with glee in his voice, Herman replies, "We have a record deal with Columbia Records!" I gasp and respond "Oh my god! Oh my god! Yahoo!" Herman laughs and says "Yay! We'll be signing the contracts tomorrow afternoon! I'll talk to you later," and hangs up. Then, I walk back into the kitchen. "Hey, babe, the pasta is ready. Oh, who was that on the phone?" Grinning, I reply, "It was Herman. The Teenagers have a record deal with Columbia Records!" Surprised, Sherman stands up and says "No way! Are you serious, babe?" "I am serious! We go to sign the contracts tomorrow afternoon!" I happily reply. Sherman walks over to me, kisses me, and says "I'm so happy, Alyssa. The Teenagers get to continue their music career over at one of the greatest labels in America." Simply, I say "I'm happy too, my love." Then, Sherman smiles and says "I'm excited about getting back into the studio and recording." This news just made my day so much better. I'm glad that the Teenagers are going to sign with one of the best record labels in America.

Later that night, I'm sitting in Sherman's room, penning the lyrics to a song I'm writing. "Hey, babe. What are ya writing?" Sherman asks as he walks into his room. I look up from my notebook and reply, "I'm writing a song, and I'm calling it "Love Me Long." I want Joe to sing lead on it." Grinning, Sherman replies, "I'm proud of you for writing a song. It'll be a good song, knowing you wrote it! Joe will be glad to hear you wrote that." "I know, babe. It's my first time writing a song, though" I say. Sherman kisses my forehead and responds "Don't worry, darling." Smiling, I rest my head on Sherman's shoulder and say "Thank you, my earth angel. Now, let's get some sleep. We have a big day ahead of us tomorrow!" I can't wait for tomorrow to get here. The fact that the Teenagers are signing with Columbia Records makes me happier than when the Teenagers signed with End Records.
