Sherman and I are currently at Dr. Kasal's office, and we are here because I may be pregnant again. A week after we got back from the honeymoon, I started showing the typical pregnancy symptoms. "Alyssa, I hope we can finally start our family," Sherman says, kissing my forehead. I smile, responding "I know. If I am pregnant, which I probably am, I'll be more excited than the other day when we found out that the Teenagers are gonna perform at the Apollo Theater in a few weeks!" "Oh babe, I can't wait to sing at the Apollo, either. Joe is quite excited about it, you know. It's his dream to sing at the Apollo," Sherman says, grinning his adorable grin. Then, a nurse says "Alyssa Houlton-Garnes, Dr. Kasal is ready to see you!" This is it!
A short while later, Dr. Kasal walks into the room, and she says "Hello, Alyssa. I understand you are here because you may be pregnant, right?" Nodding, I reply "Yes, ma'am." "Okay, Alyssa," Dr. Kasal simply says. She then hands me the things needed for a pregnancy test and says "You know what to do, Alyssa." Smiling, I nod and say "Alright, Dr. Kasal!" Oh my god, the excitement is overwhelming!
After I finish doing the stuff required for the pregnancy test, I go back to Dr. Kasal. I hand her the things I used to do the pregnancy test, and she says "I'll be back very shortly, you two. Okay?" Sherman and I both nod, and I sit up on the table, beginning the patient wait for the results. "I'm already excited, babe. Maybe our dream will finally become so real, Alyssa," Sherman says. Happily, I respond, "Ahh, I know, babe! I'm sure our little Lily is looking down from heaven at us right now." Sherman smiles and says "She's our little guardian angel, and she wishes for the best. I'm sure she does." Simply, I give a sweet smile and nod my head. A short time later, Dr. Kasal reappears, and she gives Sherman and I the news that we've been waiting for: "Congratulations, Alyssa! You're pregnant!"
Sherman gets up and says "Oh my god. Oh my god! Alyssa, we're finally going to start a family!" "I know, Shermie! I'm so damn excited! Hey, Dr. Kasal, is it possible for you to do an ultrasound to see how far along I am?" I say, feeling overjoyed. Laughing, Dr. Kasal replies, "I was just about to say that I'm going to do an ultrasound." She then pulls the ultrasound machine into the room. I lay down on the bed, lift my shirt up to slightly above my stomach, and say "I'm so ready, Dr. Kasal." I feel the familiar slight chill of the ultrasound gel on my stomach as Dr. Kasal rubs the ultrasound wand onto my stomach. I turn my head to see the screen. Dr. Kasal says, "Well, Alyssa, here's one of the babies." "Holy shit...there's another!" I exclaim. Then, Dr. Kasal adds, "Here's the other one. Congrats, Alyssa- you're having twins!" I readjust my shirt and get up to hug Sherman. Then, I look at Sherman, and I notice happy tears running down his face. He says "Alyssa, we're having twins! We're having twins, babe! We have to tell the others as soon as we get back to the house!" "Yes we will, babe. I'm so excited," I say, kissing Sherman. Twins. Sherman and I are gonna be parents of two wonderful twins. I'm so damn happy. I'm really over-the-moon happy!
