Danny Pov...
After I got the collar off of Fire she fell to the floor and let them take her away. I did the same, hoping that there was some kind of plan, but deep down I knew there wasn't. She was too tired to fight back and her claws were dull compared to the way they usually are. They threw her in a padded cell and she slid across the floor in a heep of fur. They pushed me into the same cell and slammed the door behind me. I looked over at Fire and watched her try to get up. She fell back down, but kept trying until I grabbed her wrist and slung her arm over my shoulder.
"Thanks Danny." she murmured. I nodded and set her down so that she was leaning up against the wall.
"What are we going to do now?" I asked, sitting down next to her.
Fire shrugged, "That's the million dollar question."
The wolf girl looked at me and sighed, "I'm sorry for what I did and said to you."
I frowned, "Don't be sorry, they're the ones that put that damn collar on you."
Fire shook her head, "No, that was every dark thought I've ever had..."
I blinked in surprise, "You actually thought that?" I felt slightly betrayed.
Apparently, Fire caught the betrayal in my voice, "I'm sorry Danny, but...sometimes, when I get low, I think that way. It...it hurts when...." Fire trailed off and shook her head.
My eyes softened and I carefully set a hand on her shoulder, "It hurts when people look at you like some kind of monster."
"Almost everyone loves Danny Phantom, but Fire Wolf is just the mutt that hangs around with him." She snarled.
I shook my head and turned her so she was facing me, "That's not what I think and you know that's not what Sam, Tucker, or Jazz think. The rest of the world can fuck off as far as I'm concerned because we care about you." Fire tried to look away, but I grabbed her chin and looked her in the eye.
"You don't need to prove anything to anyone and it doesn't matter what they think. You know that so what's wrong?"
Her eyes watered as she shrugged, "Figured that I should vent before they replace the collar you broke. Danny, they are going to use me to kill you then I'll go insane with guilt. My obsession, you, will be dead and it's more than likely that my new obsession will be the protection of myself instead of one other person." I shook my head, but she kept going.
"The one person I protect will be myself and I'll kill everyone! They can't control my instincts forever Danny and you know it!" I had never seen Fire so upset, but the prospect of her killing made me sick to my stomach.
"I won't let that happen and I know that you won't either. Now think, how would you get out of here?"
She thought for a moment then looked at the ghost proof door.
"Wait until the door opens freeze their feet to to the floor and run like hell?" She suggested quietly.
I shrugged in response, "It's the only plan we have so sure. Can you move again?" She shrugged and carefully got up, but when I saw her hands shake I frowned.
Then, the wolf girl's muscles twitched and she fell back down, "I can, but I'm still a little twitchy."
I sighed and nodded, "What are we going to do?"
Fire smirked, "Hope that Sam and Tuck hit you in the head with-" I covered her mouth and glared at her, but her eyes held a mild amusement.
She removed my hand and said, "They'll come you know."
I nodded, "Yeah, I know and when they do the GIW are going to get one hell of a fight."
I'm really sorry!! This chapter is short, but I just wanted to get something out there that and the next chapter is a fight scene. I also apologize for the REALLY LATE update. Heh, that rhymed. Anyway, that's a wrap!!!
