"We're not done talking, young lady!" Dad yelled at me.

"I am!" I snapped as I shifted into my wolf form and took off running.

Sometimes I couldn't stand him. He couldn't be gone all the time and try and buy my love. Or act like he was a proper father. He wasn't. He was always out, and... Ugh!!!

I couldn't feel my wolf legs anymore but I didn't care. Just meant I was in shape since I wasn't tired. As I went further and further in the woods, I noticed a cliff that was coming too quickly. I skerted to a stop just as a vamp showed up.

"Careful," he laughed at me.

I was still in my wolf state, so I said nothing back.

"Angry, are we?" He found humor in this. "Well, hey, I didn't do anything. Why don't you transform back into yourself and tell me who you are?"

Werewolves and vampires got along fine. Of course there were some we steered clear from, but for the most part, there wasn't a rivalry. I had some vampire friends. Not a lot and they weren't "real" friends but still.

"Hello?" He laughed.

I blinked and shifted into myself. "Happy?" I snapped. I only had my bra and underwear since my shirt and sweats had gotten shredded. It was a hit or miss on which clothes stayed and which ones left but I always knew which ones left.

"You got a nice body," he looked me over.

"Thanks," I rolled my eyes, grateful it was 12:34AM, so he didn't get the best view as opposed to daytime.

"So, I'm Travis," he smirked.

"Joanne," I said simply.

"Well, you wanna come hang out with me? Here, you can wear my shirt," he pulled off his shirt and tossed it to me.

"Thanks, but no," I handed it back, trying not to stare at his body.

"Well, then, you wanna stay here?" He set his shirt on the ground.

"No," I said, walking away.

Something else about vampires. They had two different personalities. A nighttime and daytime personality. Totally opposite from each other. Which one did they usually stick with? That was up to everyone else to find out.

Vampires eventually stopped with their bipolar disorder whenever they found their love or whatever. Now I know what you're thinking. If you're a werewolf, how do you know so much about vampires? Simple. I like to read.

I climbed in my window to my room and threw on some sweats and a baggy shirt to sleep in. I was done with the day.

*

Sun streamed through my window and I stretched my arms. I went into the kitchen and made breakfast. Dad would be home at like 3 and so I would keep some in the fridge for him. He came and went as he pleased and I could usually tell when he was coming back. Wolf senses, maybe.

My mom died two years ago. She had gotten into a fight with another wolf because his son had hurt me. The guy that killed my mom was much stronger than her. I'd told her not to do anything, but mother instincts, I guess.

After I ate, I went and completed my online schooling for the day which took two hours or less. Afterwards, I showered, got dressed, and went walking around. Not in the woods, but just around. Where I lived, there weren't many humans. And if there were, we didn't kill them. Unless they were bad then yeah, but that went for everyone that lived here.

"Hey!" A horn honked at me and I noticed it was Travis with a few vamp friends and maybe two wolf friends. "Wanna hang out with us?"

I shrugged and got in the truck.

"So what are we doing?" I looked around.

"You'll see," the passenger said.

"Thanks for agreeing," a vamp girl said softly. "I never feel good about being the only girl."

"Sure, no problem," I shrugged.

"Hey, JoJo--"

"Don't call me that," I snapped.

"Okay, Joanne," he stretched out my name. "You swim well?"

"Yeah, why?" I shrugged.

He pulled over and we were at the beach. Before I could blink, him and his vamp friends flung me deep into the ocean and I didn't have time to even register it. When I came up, everyone else was already with me.

"She's a cutie, Travis," one of the wolves smirked at me.

"So let me introduce you to everyone," Travis wrapped one arm around me and used his other to point. "That's Hally, that's her brother Justin, our friend, Liam, and those two are brothers named Frank and Will."

I nodded and waved. This was my new group. I shrugged Travis's arm off and we started playing in the water till all hours of the night.

When it got pitch black, I could see outlines, but couldn't distinguish one person from the other. We swam back to shore and I felt an arm around me.

"Hey," Liam's voice whispered. "You wanna come stay the night at my house?"

"No, get off me," I shrugged him off.

"Oh, don't play hard to get," he kissed my neck. "Takes all the fun out."

I elbowed him hard and he let go.

"You think I don't know about you and--"

I covered his mouth before he could finish. "You weren't there. You don't know what really happened."

"Well, I know it still happened," he took my hand off.

"Keep it to yourself," I sneered.

He piled on me and I could just feel his smirk when he said, "For a price."

"Hey, Liam! Joanne! Y'all comin? We're going to my house to watch movies!" Travis said.

We stayed silent for a minute. Liam was cute. I could like him. Maybe I could change him. I didn't have to like him. I just had to keep his trap shut about what he thought he knew.

"No, y'all go ahead," I called back, kissing Liam.
