She was laughing when I caught sight of her. I stopped for a second, my hands in mid air as I had bent down to pick up my books from the bench. She had this way of laughing. I knew it was wrong to stare, but I couldn't help but glance at her every single time she smiled. And all of those glance and glimpses had led me to a final, reasonable result : she was beautiful. Not your typical, big eyes, perfect nose, perfect skin, perfect mouth beautiful, but the unique beautiful. The different beautiful. Her features were not perfect. Her nose was small and so goddamn cute. Her eyes were big, yes. And they twinkled when she laughed. Her teeth were not crooked, but were aligned at a definite angle. Her skin was tanned and I knew that was a big reason why people said she wasn't that pretty. But she was confident about herself. The way she handled herself showed it. Even if she'd ever felt insecure, she'd never shown it. And right now, as she laughed, I could see her head thrown back and her eyes sparkling up, her white teeth showing. She bent down, gasping for air, and when she looked up, her eyes met mine. I immediately blushed, my cheeks blazing with embarrassment of being caught. I almost dropped my books as I stumbled over my feet. I heard a laugh and when I look up, she was standing there, a hand over her mouth and the other one slapping her friend's arm in order to shut her up about me. But guess what? I could see her eyes sparkle.
