Chapter 6: Innocence (Shira)
I balanced easily along the wall. Huuga and Konatsu walked on my left and there was a fifteen foot drop on my right. "So, major, what is it we came here for?" I asked.
"Supplies, I already told you. The two of you should go into the market and get what we need, there's something I need to take care of." Huuga said.
"Are you sure you'll be alright on your own?" Konatsu asked. Huuga ruffled his hair.
"Take care of Shira, I can take care of myself." Huuga turned and walked off, leaving me and Konatsu alone.
"So what all do we need to get?" I asked.
"Food and water, mostly." Konatsu replied with a smile. "There's a few mechanical parts that engineers wanted." He added.
"I can pick those up if you can get the rest." I offered.
"Are you sure?" He asked.
"Positive. I want to check out what they have, I need a few parts myself." I added quietly.
"The name of the place is Smelting Pot. Your uniform should be enough confirmation to get you whatever you need." He added.
"Alright. I'll meet you in the center of town in forty-five minutes?" I asked.
"Sure." Konatsu agreed and I jumped off the wall as we parted ways.

"Hi, I'm here for the supplies the Black Hawks requested." I said brightly.
"You're a Black Hawk?" The cashier asked skeptically from over his paper.
"Beglieter." I corrected. "For commander Ayanami-sama." I added. His eyebrows raised but he stood, setting his paper down on the counter.
"I'll go get the supplies." He said, still sounding very skeptical. I turned around to watch the people in the store as he fetched what I needed. The store was pretty empty for the most part and I was the only girl.
A few of the costumers were soldiers, but I saw a few rich men as well. "Not a place for poor people." I thought.
Suddenly a man caught my eye and I wondered how I had missed him. He was big, and wearing thin clothes. There were tattoos on his back and arms, too. He seemed vaguely familiar, but without seeing his face I would be able to say from where. Suddenly, as if he knew I was looking at him, he turned sharply and stared right at me.
"It's him..." I was frozen in shock. "It's Red Cross!" My brain shouted and suddenly my body went into hyper drive. I forced myself to stay calm and shoved off the counter to approach him.
"Hi there." I said brightly.
"What do you want?" Cross grunted.
"I just wanted to tell you I like the tattoos." I frowned as I muttered it loud enough for him to hear.
"Shove off." He spat back.
"That's rude." I replied. He glared at me, but that ice cold stare didn't bother me.
"Hold on, do I know you?" Cross asked. He leaned closer to look at my face when suddenly there was a hand on my arm and a gun barrel in the small of my back.
"A sound and I fire." He warned quietly. It was another man, only a little bigger than me. "Hey, it's so great to see you." He said loudly. He gave me a warning look and I grit my teeth.
"It's been a while." I replied tartly.
"Come on, let's go get something to eat." The man started to guide me out when suddenly Cross grabbed my arm.
