Kieron's POV

As soon as I payed for the bill, which earned me an eye roll off Hannah, we walked back to her car. Once we was in she turned the car on. The gentle hum of the engine filled my ears. Once we were out of the car park she turned on the radio, the quiet music filled the background. Nothing was said between us but I couldn't help to think back to dinner.

She had tears in her eyes. She blinked them back before they could fall but I still saw them. That's when I realised this girl has got more issues then just her mother. I wanted to know what made her so upset. Seeing tears in my eyes made my chest tight. I wanted to be there for her and listen to her problems, tell her everything was fine. I wanted to hold her in my arms and soothe her.

She wasn't ready to tell me yet and I wasn't going to push her. When she was ready I'll be waiting for her.

While I was lost in thought a text came through on my phone.

Dylan:
Hey bro, how did it go? And when do I get to meet this lucky girl?

A smirk spread across my face. If I wanted her to open up to me I had to open her up to my life too. Maybe introducing her to my best friend wouldn't be such a bad thing. I sent him a text first to make sure.

You:
How about right now? As long as you swear not to embarrass me!

It took less then 10 seconds before my phone beeped again, letting me know he had replied.

Dylan:
Stop being a pussy and bring her round.

This earned a chuckle out of me. Hannah looked at me with confusion in her eyes. "What are you laughing at?" I sent her a small smile. "My best mate wants you to come round his with me," I explained waiting for her to say no. Instead shock spread across her face. "Why does he want me to come round?" Her voice was laced with curiousness. I let out a sigh "when I left yours I went round there, we sat down and talked and it made me realise that I shouldn't have left. Dylan's like a brother to me and he wants to meet you," I explain "please?" I tried to sound cute and innocent but it came out croaky. My face flushed red as she burst out in laughter. It took several minutes before her laughter stopped. "Where am I going then?" She asked with the most beautiful smile I'd ever seen. I gave her directions until we were outside his house.

We jumped out of her car and walked up to his front door. As I went to knock the door flew open. "Too slow," Dylan said with a smug look on his face. Hannah giggled and I just give him daggers. After I introduce him to Hannah he invites us in. We walk into the front room and take a seat on the sofa. I pat next to me silently telling Hannah to sit down. She takes her seat by my side looking around at his house. Dylan walks behind us stopping at the door frame.

"Do you want a beer?" He asked looking towards Hannah. The smile that once lingered on her lips was gone and I could see the pain in her eyes. She quickly shook her head and he turned to me. As much as I wanted one something was telling me it was better off if I didn't. "Nahh bro, I'll pass." His expression was shocked but he let it slide, I wasn't usually one to turn down a drink. He got one for himself and sat down on the single chair on the other side of the coffee table. He took a gulp of his drink and set it down on the table.

I could see Hannah zoning out looking at the beer bottle. She was obviously lost in thought. It didn't take much to figure out that something happened when someone was drunk. I just wanted to know what it was because I swear to god if someone touched her I will go mad.

After a few minutes in silence Dylan turned to look at Hannah. "Where are you from?" He asked obviously trying to fill the awkward silence. She cleared her throat "we used to live in London but when I turned 11 me and my mum moved down here, but just out of the city. When she got accepted for a new job we moved more into the city because we could afford it." She explained barely above a whisper. "How comes you moved here in the first place? Not that I'm moaning," his voice laced with curiosity. She gave him a small smile but I could see it was fake. As I looked into her eyes I could see pain and fear. "I needed a new start," she said. With that the subject was dropped.
