keep you safe (Octavia x Reader)

I stormed out of my sisters tent making sure my feet hit the ground as hard as they could. I couldn't believe my own sister wants to use me as bait. I made my way down to the lake , I often went there to cool down after some sort of conflict between me and somebody else at camp , it was always quiet down on the bank , the only sounds being made by the rushing waterfall . Well that is until Octavia and I come here together.

I sat down on the bank of the lake, the sun beamed down hitting the surface of the water creating such elegant shimmers, they reminded me of Octavia and her smile, her smile was as elegant as the soft ripples that ran through the water. Her smile was so elegant it could brighten anyone's day , I found a small smile making it way onto my face as I thought of my girlfriend .

"Hey" a voice from behind me made me jump a little , I turned my head slightly to look over my shoulder . My eyes caught a glimpse of Octavia before I turned back to the water.

"Hei" I mumbled in trigedasleng out of habit. The older girl sat beside me also staring out onto the water, I could sense something was eating away at her but she didn't want to ask. I moved so I was facing her.

"What is it you wish to ask Okteivia kom skaikru?" I spoke with authority just like Lexa had taught me to, but my tone was soft and posed no threat. I could visibly see her exhale deeply before she turned to me.

"What happened back there with your sister?" She asked taking a hold of my hands and giving them a squeeze of reassurance. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes , even thinking about what happened there made me angry.

"Heda Lexa wants me to pretty much get myself killed so she can start a war" I said looking at the girl in front of me. As soon as our eyes locked mine began to fill with tears , Octavia's face softened as she realised how scared I was. She reached forward pulling me in between her legs and wrapping her arms around my waist.

"You'll be okay, alright? I'm gonna be with you every step off the way , regardless of what Lexa says, I'm gonna keep you safe, I promise" She said as her hands rubbed my back in a comforting manor.
