When I was in the hospital after a few nights Joey kept coming in and comforting me. He was so lovely and two years older. "Where are you from?" I asked and he stared really embarrassed " I, I don't actually know, I have always stayed with someone who adopted me then when I turned fifteen he left me. Said I was old enough to live on my own. I never believed him though!" I could see the anger in his eyes and immediately changed the subject. "So, um.... What's for dinner?" I tried to change the subject but wasn't very good at it. His face was so lost as if he didn't know where he was. "Umm spaghetti bolognese. Is that ok?"
"Yes, it's actually my favourite food!" This is when he started to cheer up.
"My supposed dad looked after me and when he did he never let me go outside. Said the people will hurt me. I never believed him, I couldn't! He hurt me, pushed me around. I never liked him. Then one day he left me!"
"Umm I know you already told me." His face looked confused as he served me the boiling hot spaghetti bolognese. "Be careful it's hot!" I almost picked up the spoon and he whispered "allow me, don't be afraid. Please." He fed me and I could see in his eyes that he had affection towards me. I got scared and this just came out of my stupid mouth "so got a girlfriend?" Not thinking I said it and it made me sound that I like him! I don't, not in that way anyway. I like him as a friend. He chuckled so it wasn't that bad, then told me "no I haven't, why" I blushed an went red like a tomato "um I just wondered." I could see him staring at me from the corner of my eyes. He was smiling so I smiled back. "My mum told me earlier I had a brother called Joey who was taken away from us when he was younger." The room went silent......
