I sat down at my dining room table waiting on Samantha and Hakeem's arrival, Andre, Jamal, and Cookie were already in attendance, along with Lance who was sitting in front of Cookie, re-reading the documents that was about to change our life's just based off of one signature. All I needed was for everybody to be on board, but I already knew my family, everyone wasn't going to come to an agreement. Everyone meaning Hakeem.
He was most definitely my son, with his stubborn attitude. His attitude was probably one of the reasons why we didn't click. I was trying to mode him into a younger version of myself. I saw potential in him, potential that he was shielding.
Hopefully he would come to understanding me, but knowing him, I knew he wouldn't.
As I sat at the table, I watched everybody's movement. I paid close attention to body language something you had to learn in the streets, know your surroundings, know who you're dealing with before you start dealing with them.
Jamal was nervous as he should be. I could see how he was constantly shaking his leg, checking his phone, and looking from me to Cookie.
Andre however was worried and he looked stressed. Of course because of the situation with Rhonda, but I could understand. I understood what it meant to loose a child.
I felt that same way when I lost Hakeem, but what I liked about Andre was that through it all, he still put on a good front acting as if he was okay when he wasn't. That was something else you had to learn in the streets, never let you're enemies see you when you're down.
Cookie however was being her usual self. Every know and then I caught her smiling at Lance. It didn't bother me none because I knew were she would be sleeping tonight.
Lance however was pissing me off, every so often I caught him staring at Cookie. It was something about this cat that I didn't like. I just couldn't put my finger on it, whatever it was I couldn't identify it.
"Luscious are you sure their coming cause I don't have time to be-"
"Time to be what?" Hakeem asked as both him and Samantha walked through the door.
I looked at Samantha as she stood frozen looking in Lance's direction. He looked up at her and quickly looked back down. He's either banging her, or they know each other. I looked at her and then gave Lance a cold stare. I would kill him if I found out that he was fucking my daughter.
"Hakeem, Samantha, glad you too could make it," I smirked as I stood up and poured myself a glass of champagne.
I watched them as they walked over and took their seats.
I went over and closed my office door. I walked back over to my seat and sat down.
"I've brought you all here today, well because despite the situations at hand at the end of the day by blood, by relation we are Lyons, we are a family even if some of us don't like that," I said as I looked at Hakeem.
He gave me an evil glare and I slightly chuckled.
"Samantha, Hakeem meet our new Lawyer Lance, he will be representing us,"
He said as I sipped my champagne."Representing us For what?" Hakeem asked as he leaned back in his chair.
"Well Empire was our company before it was snatched from us," I replied.
