Ezra pulled Cassidy through the park to a special place, his cane clicking against a rock.
"Ezra? Where are we going? We already went to dinner." Cassidy asked, she seemed hesitant; not the normal, adventurous Cassidy he had fallen for. She held the skirt of her navy blue dress close so it wouldn't get caught on any plants. She stumbled slightly on a rock, her white heels causing her to wobble unsteadily on the ground.
"You'll see." He glanced up at the sky, the sun was setting, giving the sky a deep purple hue that made the emerging stars pop out. Perfect, he thought to himself, he rounded the bend in the trail. Cassidy gasped behind him, and he could see why. The tree in the middle of the clearing was strung with white lights that glowed softly down to the white-laced table,
"It's beautiful." She whispered, reaching out to touch a lightening bug that fluttered past. Ezra left her and started a stereo that was sitting on the table.
"Will you dance with me?" He asked, holding out his arm to her. Her cheeks flamed to the color of her ginger hair,
"Won't someone see us?"
Ezra laughed,
"I don't care if they do." He replied, "We can be in our own little world." Cassidy bent over and removed her heels, setting them onto the table.

Cassidy pulled out the pins in her hair and shook her red hair out, so it curled over shoulders and down her back. Ezra took off his shoes and socks, then pulled off his suit coat and tie. He pressed play on the radio and held out his hand for Cassidy. She took it, a wild grin lighting up her face. He set his cane against the table, Cassidy's grin faltered,
"Your cane?" She asked, this time Ezra shot her a crazed grin.
"I don't need it if I have you." A beat pulsed out of the stereo, before Cassidy could protest Ezra had grabbed her hand. He pulled her away from the table and began to dance. Ezra was working out again, some of his balance and muscles had returned, yet Cassidy could see his limp as he danced. She also saw something else in Ezra, a carefree spirit had been released. He twisted each and every way like a summertime fairy. Cassidy laughed and shook her head to the song, her wild red hair whipping around her. Ezra laughed too, the warm sound bubbling up in Cassidy. She felt as if she were flying, she began to clap to the beat, closing her eyes. She felt free as she soared with the music.

Ezra saw Cassidy close her eyes. He stopped dancing and watched her, a smile tugging his lips. She was so beautiful when she danced. She seemed so open and carefree, the music faded and she opened her eyes.
"Were you watching me?" She asked,
"I think you're beautiful when you dance." He replied, moving a lock of hair out of his eyes. Cassidy grinned,
"Then put more music on so you can watch me be beautiful." Ezra chuckled and obeyed.

A/N:
Short chapter but I think it was really a good book so I had to write something on it. The song 'Brand New' definitely helped to inspired it.
