Madeline's POV

The low rumble of the impala came to a stop as we pulled into the motel just outside of town.

"We'll be back." Dean said. Sam and him went into the shabby motel. I poked at Nat.

"Natalie, we're here." She slapped my hand. "NATALIE! ZOMBIES!" I yelled.

She flew up and hit her head on the roof. I bursted out laughing and she glared at me.

"I'm sorry Nat, but we're here." She sighed and sat back down. Sam knocked n the window and opened the door.

"Let's go." I get out and Natalie follows. We walk into the motel and go into our rooms.

Natalie's POV

I wasn't really comfortable sharing a room with Dean. I wasn't sure about how Madeline felt sharing with Sam, but I hated this.

"You know, it would probably be better to talk about it." Dean says.

"About what?" I snapped.

"Your mom." Dean replies.

"No." I growl as I get up to leave.

"I loved her. Still do." Dean said.

I stopped walking an tried to hold back my tears.

"Then why did you leave?" I ask, my voice cracking.

"Because I couldn't protect you and your mother. You- you almost died hen you were 2. It was my fault. I then knew what I had to do." He explained.

"Leave?" I ask angrily.

"Natalie, I'm sorry." Dean says sadly.

"No, you don't get to be sorry. Do you know what mom and I had to go through?!" I yelled.

Dean looks at me questioningly.

"He hit us! He would hit mom until she blacked out! He would hit me until I begged for mercy! He would never stop! I had to live like that for 13 god damn years!" I scream.

Dean looked at me angrily.

"That bastard had no right to lay a hand on either of you." He growled.

"Well that didn't stop him." My voice cracked.

I tried to leave but Dean stopped me. He pulled me into a hug as I cried.

"You'll be okay..." He hushes.

I hope he is right.

Madeline's POV

I lied down on my bed and silently cried. I looked at the picture of my mom, Sam, and I.

For 15 god damn years I didn't have a dad.

For 15 god damn years I was teased or picked on because I didn't have a dad.

For 15 god damn years I cried for my dad.

For 15 god damn years there was no answer.

I curled into a ball and whimpered. The door closed and I didn't move.

Sam sat down on my bed and put his hand on my shoulder. "Are you okay kid?" He asked.

I took a deep breath and sat up, pushing his hand off in the process.

"Just let me sleep." He nodded and went into the bathroom. My head hit the pillow and I fell asleep.

Natalie's POV

I woke up the next morning to yelling.

"He hurt her Sam!" Dean yelled.

"I know that but we can't just go barging into her old house and beat the crap out of her dad." Sam says.

"Step-dad. I'm her dad. I'm her father." Dean growled.

"And who said that? She sure as hell didn't." Sam stated.

I pretended to wake up.

"What's up?" I ask.

"Nothing, get your things were leaving." Sam snarled.

"Don't speak to her like that." Dean argued.

Sam rolled his eyes at Dean's protectiveness. I got my stuff ready.

"You should've called me. I gave your mother my number." Dean says to me.

I stop what I'm doing.

"I know, she gave it to me. You wouldn't have answered anyways." I scoffed.

"You don't know that." Dean stated.

"Yeah, I do." I replied as I grabbed my stuff and headed to the impala.

He followed after me with his things and he put them in the trunk. I got in the backseat and soon after, Madeline got in.

I looked at her and she looked at me. No words were exchanged between us as I laid my head on her shoulder. I felt like crying but I didn't say anything or make a noise as my tears slowly fell onto Madeline's shirt, soaking it.
