The Dark Hearts Clary and Izzy's group

chapter 16

Jace's pov
Clary finishes her sandwich in five minutes and starts to dig in the freezer. She pulls a carton of vanilla ice cream out and grab a 2 liter of Root Beer from the fridge. She starts making Root Beer Floats.

"So how am I supposed to prove to you that I won't cheat again?" I ask as she hands me a Root Beer Float.

"I don't know," she tells me. This makes me furious.

"HOW CAN I PROVE TO YOU THAT I STILL LOVE YOU IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW YOU WANT ME TO PROVE IT TO YOU?" I yell.

"You're smart Jace you will figure it out. I know you will," she says softly putting her dishes in the sink. Her and Sebastian go to the living room.

That's when an alarm goes off.

Clary's pov
Sebastian and I reach the living room. That is when the alarm is triggered. I look at Sebastian and mouth for him to leave. He nods and I go to the kitchen. Jace is standing there with a Seraph blade.

"Come on Jace we have to get out of here. It's not demons attacking," I say grabbing his arm. I pull him outside and we start to run. We just make it to the steps of the Institute when someone grabs me from behind.

"Clary," Jace says.

"Jace, get the kids," I say hoping he will go inside. I am too late though. He swings at the person behind me but he misses. Someone else comes and knocks him out. The person who knocked him out carries him to the door and sets him in front of it.

The last thing I see is people in white coats surrounding me. That's when they knock me out.

Jace's pov
I wake up to see Isabelle and Alec standing above me. Isabelle sees me first.

"He is awake," she says.

"Good now we can figure out who took Clara."

"He just woke up Cala. Let him eat."

I sit up to see the Dark Hearts. I remember what Clary told me. Jace, get the kids.

"The kids?" I say. Everyone but Izzy looks confused. Clary must have told her with her mind.

"They are fine," she says, "Cala will go get them."

Cala and the other two girls leave and Isabelle sits down beside me. "Are you alright?" She asks me. "Physically yes," I say, "emotionally no."

"Can you tell me what happened?"

"We had just finished eating. Clary and Sebastian went to the living room when the alarm went off. Sebastian must have left because Clary came in and told me we had to go. We made it to the institute when someone in a white coat grabbed her. Clary yelled for me to get the kids. I tried to hit them but I missed and someone knocked me out. That's all I remember," I say.

"I will tell Cala, Kaylee, and Katalynn," Isabelle says, "you are not allowed to move for another hour. Then we will discuss what to do next."

She stands up and gives me a hug. She lets go as Cala comes in with the children. They see me and Angel runs over to me.

"Daddy where is Momma?"

"I don't know but I am determined to find out," I say, "and I am going to protect and take care of my five children. We will get her back no matter what it takes."

All five children share a look before the other four run to me. They all give me a hug and I see Isabelle smiling at me. The Dark Hearts leave the room and Alec comes over to me he gives me a hug and whispers something.
