Do you understand how hard it is to watch your best friend fall in and out of love while you just sit on the sidelines, not able to do anything for her? But not able to do anything for yourself either? Because you fell in love too, but you were never able to fall out of it. You let it destroy you from the inside out. And no matter how hard you try to move on, you just can’t.
You thought you'd stopped thinking about him. Stopped caring about him. Stopped loving him. Stopped being jealous and angry and sad. But the moment he looks at you, the whole facade crumbles. And you realize that you never stopped any of the emotions that came out of being around him. You can't control anything you feel. But you're trying to, because you feel like every wall is crashing down on you. You can't get him off of your mind.
And eventually you think you've pushed him out of your thoughts again. But then he finds a way to weasel his way back into your life.
At night you feel like crying, and you don't know why. Probably because you promised yourself that you'd be strong. All of your pent up feelings were taking a toll on you, and you were ready to burst again. You understood now that no matter how much you try to erase him from your life, he will always be lurking in the shadows, ready to pop out at the worst of times.
Your stress levels would skyrocket. Your heart would be ripped to shreds. And your emotions would entangle with each other. Your whole mind would be jumbled and you wouldn't know anything about anything. You'd wish that this would be how it always was. Numb to the pain. Seemingly emotionless. Because life would be so much simpler that way.
