Carol's POV

I wake up to find myself in complete darkness. I sit up, surprised that I'm not restrained. I try to get up, and with ease I succeed. I tried to adapt to the darkness but all I saw was a dim fire from the candle, which was near a mirror.

Totally not creepy...

I walked towards the mirror and was barely able to see my reflection, but it was there. I also saw another one behind me. I could only think of one person.

"Sebastian.." I say softly.

"Hello, M'lady." He answered in a whisper.

"Why is my room so dark?" I asked as I make my way back to my bed.

"I shut the curtains, I thought that it would help you sleep better. Also, please be more quiet, Mey-rin is sleeping." He whispered.

I quickly got nervous.

So I AM in my room, but why is Sebastian here? Oh geez..

I lay myself back in bed, blanket pulled up. I felt the bed dip, meaning Sebastian is sitting by me.

"Can't sleep?" He asked.

"It's common nowadays." I said, trying to sleep once more.

I then felt myself getting picked up. Sebastian held me, his hand held my back and the other held the back of my knees. I felt my nightgown pick up a little but I was too exhausted from crying to care. I felt my eyes grow heavy from Sebastian carrying me down the hallway, so I let darkness cover me and take me to a new world.

Sebastian's POV

She's not struggling with me, maybe she is tired. I look down at the young maid in my arms, sleeping, looking like she has no care in the world. I knew she was a demon who still carried her human soul and heart, it's really rare.

"If only you weren't mad at me.." I mutter as I walk into my room, making sure to kick the door close with my foot.

I lay Carol on one side of my bed, making sure she's under the blankets. I pull the blankets over me and I pull her on to my chest, wrapping my arms around her in the process. I kissed her head, letting myself linger there for a while. I felt myself being covered by darkness, this is something that I haven't had in a while.

Sleep.

Ciel's POV
(The next day)

I look out the window to find Carol helping Finny in the garden, along with Mey-rin and Bardroy.

She must have finished her chores already. If Sebastian knew that she was this happy, he'll be angry. But.... At least it will be entertaining.

I turned around to the sound of my door opening, only to see Sebastian wheeling in the cart that had my tea.

Tch.. Speak of the devil..

"Your tea, master." He said as he poured some in a cup.

"Yes," I said as I sat down, "Did you see Carol at all today?"

"No I haven't, master. Why do you ask?" He asked as he made a confused look.

"I just saw her in the garden, helping Finny. That's all." I said as I took a sip.

But once I did, he was out the door. I stood up and looked out the window to find Sebastian behind Bardroy, who has no clue. I smirk at the sight.
