Aleister opened his eyes.. as alert signs appeared all over the holographic screens surrounding his tank.

"It seems that Avignon is being thoroughly invaded as planned." Aleister muttered. "However, it doesn't seem like it will be as easy as I thought.."

Aleister enlarged one holographic screen showing a solitary figure walking across the landscape, towards Avignon, covered in a large shredded cloak.

"Vilgax." said Aleister. "Why do you come to Avignon of all places... could he have sensed it too.. what's about to take place?"

"Father.." Malware's voice echoed through the room. "It seems Vilgax has entered the vicinity."

"I am quite aware of this." said Aleister.

"You could destroy him with ease." said Malware. "Do you intend to head out yourself?"

"I don't think I need do so quite yet, Imagine Breaker has been freed, so now Touma Kamijou can deal with the Document of Constantine himself." said Aleister. "In the meantime, it frees us up to use Ben Tennyson for other means.. he's grown far more powerful since they both last encountered each other.. I feel it will be good to test Tennyson's strength for a spell.."

"And what of the Teleporter? Kuroko Shirai?" Malware asked.

"She is of no concern.. she has no major place in my plans.." Aleister mused.

Vento was absolutely unequivocally embarrassed. She had never done this before. Go somewhere without her habit, piercings, and make-up. It was part of her pride as a magician.. but.. she had wanted Ben to see the real her.

She wore her robes again, covering up the embarrassing Fallen Angel Maid outfit. Meanwhile, Mikoto was helping Ben to his feet.

"You're okay right?" Mikoto said.

"Honestly I'm fine." Ben muttered.

"So.." Vento muttered. "He really does love her.. then what the heck am I doing here?"

"Er... hey?" Ben tapped on Vento's shoulder. "Vento of the Front right?"

Vento felt her heart explode a few beats. "NEEEH!? I mean.. wh-wh-wh-what do you want punk!? Going to laugh at me!?"

Ben sighed with relief. "Well, seeing that angry face reminds me of the girl I fought in Academy City.. glad to know you're not a completely different person.. that would be kind of.. er.. well.."

Vento glared at Ben. "Peh! N-n-non-Catholic heathen. I was only here because I heard Terra was going overboard again.. so I wanted to check if you were okay."

"I thought I was a non-Catholic heathen, as you so lovingly put it." said Ben. "Why are you like this with me now?"

Vento gave Ben a kind look, one she hadn't ever given him before.. something that looked very uncharacteristic for the angry and vicious magician from God's Right Seat.

"You.. were the first who ever fought me.. and actually still felt it would be right to look after my well being, even when I was the enemy."

"Wait.. nobody's actually.. well done that?" Ben asked.

"Most of my enemies die cursing my name." said Vento. "It's a little thrilling, but it was nice to see an opponent who had other priorities other then his own pride. "

"Well then this is perfect." said Ben, pumping his fist. "You can argue our case for us.. with your help, we can stop this war before it goes further, find some way for the Magic side to back off!"
