Awaki Musujime's 3 second delay in self teleportation and difficulty at it is a result of her past trauma of having accidentally teleported into a wall.  This is true in both the actual Index Continuity as well as the Omnitrix Continuity.

Awaki ran through the dark alley, as several men chased her.

"HEY!!" the men, all being members of Skill Out, yelled out at her. "COME BACK!!!"

Awaki gritted her teeth. To think.. considering the guy who was already chasing her, she had to have this riff raff chasing her too.. crap.

Awaki teleported multiple times, appearing in the sky at several points for several split seconds as she continuously teleported through the air to avoid to make her way to the roof of the sky scraper next to her.

"Alright!!" Awaki said, with a sigh of relief. "Now.. all I need to do is.."

"Is to surrender."

Awaki squealed with fright as she saw XLR8 standing next to her, grinning.

"Well.. you took your time getting up here, I swear I was waiting for hours." said XLR8.

"GOD DAMNIT!" Awaki roared. "What do you ALIEN crap heads want with me!?"

"Well it's rather simple." said XLR8. "You stole from our client, and he wants what you stole back.. comprende miss Musujime?

"I don't speak Spanish." said Awaki. "But I do speak.. SEE YA LATER!!!"

Awaki made to teleport away, but the moment she reappeared, XLR8 had zoomed around in front of her. 

Awaki teleported in another direction, but XLR8 zoomed in front of her in an instant.

"God DAMNIT!!" Awaki pulled out her flashlight.. and immediately a large metal trashcan on the side of the roof, disappeared and reappeared where XLR8 was, right after he sped out of the way in an incredible burst of speed.

"Really now." said XLR8. "Ya better try better than that slowpoke."

Awaki suddenly started to panic. Just what was this kid!? Who could change into these... these.. monsters!?

Awaki screamed and began teleporting all over the place as XLR8 zoomed all around, blocking Awaki's path off.

"YO! Give it a rest!" said XLR8. "Keep this panic up and you're going to hurt yourself!"

"SHUT UP!!!" Awaki screamed.

But.. in that instant... she felt it.. unbelievable pain...

Awaki opened her eyes.. and..

in that moment of utter horror... she looked down..

Half.. her body.. was stuck inside a wall..

Awaki felt her fear rise within her, like an uncontrollable well. She screamed with all her might, trauma exploding through her mind as she saw this. 

XLR8 zoomed over next to Awaki, looking shocked. "DAMN!! Hold on!!! I'm going to get you out!!!"

"NO!! NO!! IT HURTS!!! OH MY GOD!!!" Awaki screamed, tears gushing from her eyes.

"Hold on Esther!!" XLR8 spoke into his com. "I've got a situation here! Call an Ambulance or something!"

There was a flash of green light, and Ghostfreak floated there. "Okay.. this is gonna feel.. weird.."
