7. The Circle Has Been Broken

Jai's POV

Monday. I hate Mondays I'm always half asleep the whole day but I have to go so I guess I'll deal with it. I walk into school and see all my friends gathered at Sam's locker.
"Hey guys!" I say acting like I'm awake but truly I'm half asleep. Then I notice somethings wrong.
"What happened?" I add worried.
"On Friday Sam got injured." Ian replies
"Yeah she was at the park and a car pulled up and the black cloak got out and started shooting at her and then got back into the car and chased her for awhile. She almost got hit twice by falling." Storm says as he checks his phone.
"Yeah and the second time I fell I got up and there was a sharp wire that cut my leg and now I have a big scar." Sam says as she begins to grab her stuff for class.
"Are you alright?!" I ask very worried.
"Yeah now I am but I was terrified." Sam replies
"Well I'm so sorry that happened. I can't believe that. At least you didn't get killed." I say as we start walking to class.

We head to the cafeteria for lunch. Adam walks over.
"Hey guys" he says as he pulls up a chair and sits down at our table.
"Hey...Why are you here?" Ian ask rudely considering he isn't so fond of of Adam.
"Because I want to be a part of this group...or whatever it is." Adam replies
"Why?" Callie says as she sits down.
"All of my other friends are jerks and well I was close to Abby so I think I could help somehow." He responds
"Well maybe he could help a little?" Storm asks
"Yeah fine whatever we'll call you if we need you." Sam replies as she picks up her juice and drinks it.
"Yeah we'll text you." I say
"Okay cool." Adam says as he gets up to get his food. The rest of lunch he stays with us and we kind of sit there awkwardly considering he is one of the most popular people...sitting at our table.

I walk down the hallway on my way back from lunch and notice Nova and Beth both walking alone and down the hall Vanessa and Laurie walking alone. That never happens. All of them always walk together at least when Abby was alive. Maybe they broke apart considering Abby was their leader and brought the group together. So I guess that the inner circle it now a broken circle.

I get home from school and plop onto my bed as if it was the most tiring day of my life. My parents won't be back till around 5:30 so I have time to rest until then.

"AHH!!" I wake up screaming as I feel something burning me. I look down to my hand it's in a puddle of blue liquid that is burning my right hand. I lift my hand right up and walk to the bathroom to see what injuries happened. The burning feels like I shoved my hand into lava. I run to see if my parents are home and luckily they are.

Now at the hospital they are checking my burns and making sure I'll be alright. The doctor says what burnt me was the liquid from those phone cases that have different colored liquid. He says he's gotten many patients that have been burnt by the liquid inside saying the liquid will give you third degree burns and to never buy one of those cases again. I get bandaged up and head home. Then I realized I don't have one of those cases. I threw mine away a couple months ago. So how did one get into my house and on my bed? I ask myself maybe this wasn't me and someone else.

I walk into school on Tuesday with my hand covered in bandages like a mummy. Opening up my locker and grabbing my ELA stuff and closing the locker. All with my left hand and I'm right handed.
"Oh my God? What happened?!" Callie shouts as she walks up.
"Oh last night I woke up with blue liquid from a phone case broken pouring out onto my hand and now it's burnt." I say as we begin walking through the long endless hallway.
"I'm so sorry! Hope your hand heals soon!" She says with sympathy. We both walk into class.

Killer POV

I had injured Sam to assure the others she hadn't killed Abby. You may think I'm crazy but I'm very similar to someone you may know. I look into my eyes and think wow what has happened to me since I was left alone as an orphan.

I think about the other being with Sam that night. I know whoever that is is trying to figure out my identity and will keep hurting people to figure out which person will confess to the murder. They want revenge.

Tormentor POV

Jai. I know he must've not killed Abby. Even though Abby had left him after she gained popularity he wouldn't have killed her. He doesn't know exactly how he was burnt but he will figure it out soon. By then I will know he didn't.

Jai's POV

I step into my room and set my backpack on the ground. I look at the sheets on my bed and see the stain from the blue liquid. I rip the sheets from my bed and take them downstairs to wash them. Walking into my room again I look at the ground and see a plastic bag with a broken case in it. It looks exactly like a case that would've held the blue liquid inside it. I grab the bag and stair at the case. It looks like it had been shattered like a glass wall. I take the bag and and hide it in my closet not sure what to do with it yet.

Tormentor POV

I text Laurie, Beth, Nova, and Vanessa who were Abby's best friends. I told them to meet at Abby's shed. They meet here around 9:00 looking around for me but I hide away to not let them see me.
"Guys who sent this to us?" Laurie says looking around.
"I don't know but I only came to see what and who it was since it's at Abby's place. It could have something to do with her death." Beth says as the all begin to walk to the back of the shed.
"Oh my God look!" Nova shouts look at the shed's wall as it reads "THE CIRCLE HAS BEEN BROKEN" with a circle around it. I wrote it earlier to freak them out. Vanessa walks closer.
"Guys the words are made out of blood!" Vanessa shouts stepping back. *Phone rings*
"Look its right there" Beth says pointing to the ground. Vanessa picks the phone up shaking. She begins to read the text on the phone.
"The circle has been broken. I'm willing to break it more until one of you confesses."
