"Let's go in here." Mia suggested.

"Mia don't you think you have enough clothes?" I asked eyeing off her bags.

"I'm done, this is for you." She said as if it was obvious.

"Mia I don't need clothes." I smiled shaking my head at her.

"I'm thinking more revenge clothing, that will make my idiot brother regret his decision to give up on you." She said looking through the clothing.

"Mia shouldn't you be sticking up for him since he's your brother?"

"I guess but I'm not going to because it's no-ones fault. You want to be with him, he wants to be with you and Letty. And Letty wants to be with him. It's a situation that I wish didn't exist. You being with Dom would probably lead to you both being married and having little ones, you would be my official sister. But since he is blind, I'll just have to settle with you being my unofficial sister."

"You are my sister whether it's on paper or not. Family isn't always those who you are related to. It's also those you choose to love." I said smiling at her.

"Such true words. God I love you." She said grabbing my hand. "Now stop whining about not wanting to being here and buy a couple clothes. Then we'll go and have lunch and we can talk."

"Mia. We are talking."

"Stop stalling!"

I smiled and dug into the clothes.

At the end of it I bought a dress, two tops and three skirts.

Just to shut Mia up.

We walked into a nice café and sat down at a table off to the side.

"So, why did you leave Lexi? What happened" Mia asked.

"Wow straight to the questions. I told you why I left."

"No you were lying I know that you were." She said, that determined look in her eyes.

I sighed, it was true. It wasn't the whole truth.

But neither was anything was anything I told her.

"Okay." I started. "My parents were afraid of how serious Dom and my relationship was. They didn't like you all and didn't like how much time Tay and I were spending with you. My parents were stuck up rich people that didn't give a penny for anyone else's feelings. They wanted me to marry someone rich and sophisticated. I told them no and that there was nothing that they could do to separate Dom and I, and I wouldn't stop coming to see you guys. They didn't like that so, they sold the house bought one somewhere else. Took Tay out of our school booked her into another one. Seeing as how Dom and I had already graduated. When I found out I told them that I would just live with you guys. They then told me that they knew about some crimes Dom had committed and threatened me. They said if I didn't do as they said they would send him to jail along with Vince. So I did, I wasn't going to let anything happen to them and you were still young you wouldn't have had anyone to take care of you. They told me to tell you all that I had to leave and I probably wasn't coming back. But I didn't, all I said was that I was leaving because I've never believed that anything is final. We moved away and I did everything they told me to do. I wore what they told me to wear, I went wherever they wanted me to go and acted the way they wanted me to. I didn't get even one call from you guys. As soon as I was 18 I told Tay I was leaving, packed my bags and I left. I went and stayed with Sam my cousin and that was how my adventures began."

"I never knew. You left everything you loved to save us." She said with tears in her eyes.

"I counted everyday. I would be with Dom now, Tay would have stayed friends with you and you would have been there when she died. If it wasn't for my parents." I said.

"I guess that makes you our hero then."

"I guess so." I said chucking.

"Hi, what can I get you both?" Our waiter asked.

"Can I have the catch of the day with salad instead of chips, and a lemonade with a slice of lemon please." I said.

"Yum, me too. Thank you." Mia said.

"So what's next on your list of questions?"

"What happened after you moved in with Sam?"

"Well I helped him with his garage. He taught me more about racing, and building cars. He met his wife not long after that, her name is Tatia. She walked in about 11 pm, drenched from the storm. Because her car broke down the road and she had to walk all the way. We were there working late because Sam was behind on his paperwork and I had to repaint my car. She knocked on the door and Sam asked me to get it. I walked over and opened the door to let her in. I grabbed a blanket out of my car and wrapped it around her. She sat down in one of the waiting chairs. She told me that her car broke down some way down the road, in the middle of the storm. Her phone had been stolen earlier that day so she couldn't call anyone. She walked up the road to find another person and we were the only business open at that time of the night. I called Sam into the room and it was love at first site. I took his truck to go and get her car leaving them alone. I brought her car back and I saw them laughing and flirting with each other. Sam took her home. They started dating after that. Nothing else important happened that year. The next year I joined the armed forces, and started my training as a ranger. The year after that Sam and Tatia got married  leading to the whole family coming to the wedding including my family. That was when they told me that Tay had Leukaemia. I went to every appointment with her, even when my disgusting parents couldn't find the time. I was on leave from the army at this point, I wasn't too sure how long I would be out the game. The following year, she died and my life changed. She told me to do all the things on her bucket list and see the world, because life didn't last very long. I moved around a lot seeing the world, I saw. Europe, Australia, Asia, the rest of America, Russia. I went everywhere. But I settled in one place and I got the job I have now. But there was always a few on the list that I couldn't do for her." I said leaving out the part where I joined a secret organization and a few other little details.

"What was on her list?" She asked curiously

"Well when we finish up here we can go back to my apartment and I'll show you her list." I said right before the waiter brought our food and drinks.

After lunch we got back in the car and drove over to my place, but the questions hadn't finished.

"So do you have a job now?"

"Yeah, I work as a secretary." I lied.

"Do you have good pay?"

"Very good."

I parked and showed Mia up to my apartment.

"Wow, you live here? It's beautiful, and so clean." Mia said walking around my apartment.

"Thanks." I said putting my things down and walking into my room.

I had totally forgot about Owen knowing about this place. It was so dangerous having her here, she couldn't stay long.

I went into my walk in wardrobe and pulled out a small box of Tay things that I kept in the safe.

Mia had seated herself on the couch waiting for me.  I sat down beside her and opened the box.

I cleared my throat.

"This is her bucket list." I said holding up the used piece of paper. "She wrote 'My bucket list, not in order.

Fall in love.
Get married.
Win a unbeatable contest.
Have kids.
Go bungy jumping.
Travel the world.
Publish one of my books.
Buy a house.
Contact all my old friends.
See the gang again.
Grow old.
Throw a themed party.
Pull pranks on people I don't like.
Spend my last moments with the following people.
Lexi, Mia, Dom, Vince. The four people I love most in the world'."

I looked up at Mia who was crying, I didn't even notice that I was too. I hugged her tight after placing the list down on my coffee table.

"Oh god. Tay. She's never going to be able to do any of that. She can't fall in love, get married, have kids, grow old. She's really gone. She's really gone." Mia cried.

We stayed like that crying for our lost, friend, sister, angel.
