Chapter 24

I felt myself on a bed. I realised then that we must have made it to a new safe house location. I felt mentally exhausted. I opened my eyes. I was in a similar room to one at the other facility. I was a little groggy. I sat up.

I noticed Alec asleep in a chair next to me then. I laughed. He had stayed with me. I smiled. My head was still a little sore but it was barely noticeable now. He roused from his sleep then.

                “Hey sleepy head,” I spoke.

He was truly awake then. He climbed on my bed and wrapped his arms around my waist. I snuggled close to him placing my head on his chest. He kissed my head.

“How are you doing?” Alec asked, as he tightened his grip around my waist.

                I felt the familiar tingles.

“Exhausted. Using all my powers at one time. Kind of did it for me,” I sighed into his chest.

I placed my hand on his chest.

“You shouldn’t have done that. Put all that pressure and effort on yourself,” Alec moaned.

“Well what was I supposed to do? If I didn’t mind read and communicate, I couldn’t stay in contact with all of you. If I didn’t have the shield up more people would have got shot. If I didn’t pu-“

I was cut off then as Alec pushed me away and began kissing me. I melted into his arms at that point. I wrapped my legs around his waist to which he pulled me closer. I smiled into our kiss. I was tingling all over as his hands moved up and down my back. I shivered under his touch. Regretfully, I pulled away.

“Come on. I think we all have some things to talk about,” I said.

“Fine,” He sighed, before kissing me on my forehead.

He left the room. I brushed my teeth then and went in the shower. I felt the water cascade down my body. I got out after a while and got changed. I was in some black skinny jeans, some black converse and a white flowing blouse. I had dried my hair which had gone into its natural curls. Then there was the benefit of not needing make up. I walked out and followed the thoughts of Alec until I arrived into a room with sofas and a small table in. Susan, Alastair, Xander and Alec were in there. I walked in and sat down.

“How you doing Xander?” I asked.

“I’m fine. They took the bullet out. I will heal that little bit faster anyway,” He replied.
