Chapter 33

                Alec’s POV

I was shocked. I was devastated. I watched her crumple to the ground with the knife embedded in her stomach. She had done it to stop me from dying. She had done it for me. She was willing to kill herself for me. He body was on the floor and blood was beginning to pool around her. My head was hurting so much. The emotional pain.

I saw Jack curl over in pain clutching at his head. I hated him. It was his fault. He would die for this. I would make sure of that. I sent my fire at him and watch him scream as his body engulfed in it. I turned away then no longer wanting to watch the sight. We were winning the battle but at what cost?

I ran over to Alex’s body. I cradled her head in my lap. Some medics had also ran over and were tending to her wound. They were packing it with cloth to stem the bleed. Tears were falling freely down my face. The wind was whipping crazily around me as my emotions were taking over. The battle was over and we had won but I was in no mood for rejoicing.

“Come on Alex. Please. Please don’t die. Alex wake up. Talk to me. Please,” I sobbed as one of my tears fell onto her face.

The medics were working double time. They were pumping her with adrenalin to keep her heart beating and were trying to step the blood come from the wound around the knife. They kept the knife in. It was too dangerous to remove it.

I saw her eyes flicker open and look at me. Tears were welling up in her eyes. She looked tired, defeated and warn out. I noticed Xander and Alastair run into the clearing that was made for us. They were shocked faces that looked sad and defeated. The sight before them truly shocked them to the core.

“Alec. I… I am so sorry. I l..love you so much,” Alex stuttered.

I stroked her face with my thumb.

“I love you so much Alexandria. Please keep fighting for me. Please” I sobbed.

                “Alec. I…I’m scared,” Alex spoke.

“I am here. It will be fine,” I spoke.

As soon as I spoke those words she began to choke. Blood began to spill from her mouth. She spluttered. I was pulled from her quickly by Xander and Alastair. I fought against them but I watched as Alex was carted away to a theatre we had set up on our side of the camp. She was stretchered through the battle field. I chased after her followed by Xander and Alastair.

She was brought into this huge medical tent and taken to the back where there was a theatre set up. They began surgery on her straight away. We were made to wait outside. I paced back and forth. I hated this. I needed to be with her. I couldn’t stand this waiting. I had to be there for her.
