Bellamy:
"Clarke stop! Please step back...." She doesn't turn to me but I can see her back muscles tense when she hears me.
"Bellamy go." She says looking slightly over her shoulder, the chilly wind brushing her blonde strands in my view of her face
"Clarke what's happening? Your scaring me....." She chuckles softly, looking back to the cliffs edge.
"Why is that funny?!" I demand stepping towards her. She can sense my step and makes the equal distance farther to the cliff. I stop immediately.
"Bellamy Blake.... Bellamy Blake is scared.....Why?" She whispers. She whips her head to me and her bright blue eyes are blurred by the darkening sky and growing tears.
"I don't know what's wrong Clarke, with you, your scaring me..."
"Bell, out of all the people that have grown very close to knowing me I thought you'd be able to understand. But your just scared."
I breath heavily at the sound she makes while saying 'Bell'.
"Clarke I-"
"Your scared for me. And you can't be, okay you can't keep me safe. Not from grounders, not from the people close to me, you can't keep me safe if it mean I'll just lose you in the end."
"Clarke, I can and I will, I would do anything to protect you, you know that. So if your scared of this world just know I can protect you." She sighs sitting at the edge of the cliff legs dangling off the edge. She could jump and there would be nothing for me to do. The sound of rushing water can't overpower her gentle sobs.
"Bellamy....." She takes a deep breath. "I've been through.." She pauses thinking about the past as do I. "...lots- too much. Things a 20 year old girl shouldn't have to experience. The death of a parent, a best friend, a lover, the blood of children is on my hands, Bellamy, I just....." I slowly make my way to the cliff edge sitting next to her. "I can't see a future without me holding a knife to an innocents neck. I've done my part. I deserve to rest right? Even if after what I've don't I don't deserve peace, I'm selfish and I'm tired." She huffs leaning into me.
"Clarke." I say taking her hand. "Everything you've ever done was to save to someone else. Your not selfish. And you can never forget that that makes you an innocent. I do think you deserve peace. And rest."
"And here I thought you were trying to talk me out of throwing myself off a cliff." She laughs with pure sadness etched in the lining.
"Clarke you deserve peace and rest, but I think you deserve even more than that..." Curious she lifts her head from my chest to look my in the eyes.
"What do I deserve..." She whispers.
"You deserve to fall in love, to get married, to have children, to have friends, to be happy and live a long life, that wasn't cut short by a lack of self worth."
"I don't know if I can do all that, sounds tiring." She sighs happily looking deeper into my eyes.
"Don't worry, I can help out some." I whisper with uneven breaths. With my face only a cm away it's her sweet honey like smell that pushes me over the edge and pulls my lips to hers like a magnet.
My hands find their way to her waist and I drag her away from the edge of the cliff so that she's laying on top of me. Her delicate hands snake up to my hair and that's the tipping point. I jerk up fast startling her.
"Do you promise to live a long life with me, to fall in love me, to marry me and have little princes and princesses running around as soon as possible."
She stares at me, her cheeks red from the bitter cold wind.
"I promise to never to go to the edge of that cliff again, I've already fallen in love with you, I want to marry you now, and I'm all for having your children at any moment."
"Princess I love you. I now pronounce you my wife."
"I don't think that's how it works"
"Shut up and kiss the groom"
"That's not right either."
"Didn't you just say you wanted to have my children?"
"Yes."
"Well then stop making this so difficult" I laugh.
"Bellamy, can you really be happy with me-"
I slam my mouth into hers answering her question.
Yes.
